Job Title: HR Specialist
FLSA: Hourly/Non Exempt
Location: 580 Cambridge Street, Cambridge, MA 02141
Rate: $21-24
Job Summary We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented HR Specialist to join our dynamic team. As an HR Specialist, you will be responsible for managing essential HR functions, including payroll processing, recruitment and hiring, and benefits administration. The ideal candidate possesses excellent interpersonal skills, a strong understanding of HR practices, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities
● Run payroll processes accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
● Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollment, maintenance, and inquiries.
● Oversee the entire recruitment and hiring process, from job postings and candidate screening to conducting interviews and making job offers.
● Collaborate with hiring managers to develop job descriptions and ensure the selection of qualified candidates.
● Conduct new employee orientations and facilitate the onboarding process to ensure a smooth transition into the organization.
● Manage employee records, including personnel files, benefits documentation, and performance evaluations.
● Stay up to date with HR policies, employment laws, and regulations, and make recommendations to ensure compliance.
● Provide guidance and support to employees regarding HR-related inquiries, policies, and procedures.
● Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve HR processes and contribute to organizational initiatives.
● Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with utmost discretion.
Qualifications
● Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
● Proven experience as an HR Specialist or in a similar HR role.
● Strong knowledge of payroll processing, recruitment and selection, and benefits administration.
● Familiarity with HR software systems and tools.
● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with employees at all levels of the organization.
● Demonstrated understanding of employment laws and regulations.
● Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
● Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
● Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
● High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality.
