Summary Statement


The Director of Human Resources is an integral part of the operations of the Human Resources and Volunteer Services Division. Working closely with the Chief People Officer, this position oversees a staff of two full-time employees, including the HRIS Specialist and the Benefit and Employee Program Coordinator. This position is responsible for developing and administering policies and procedures for the Museum and monitoring the compensation and benefits programs to ensure equity and integrity. They will also oversee all employee-focused programs in collaboration with the Senior Director of Culture and Belonging to ensure that all processes drive the Museum's DEAIB initiatives.


Responsibilities


  • Responsible for the Museum's Employee Handbook, which supports over 300+ employees.
  • Responsible for compensation program.
  • Manages employee relations for individual contributors and 90 supervisors and managers.
  • Responsible for departmental budget planning and maintenance.
  • Lead two full-time staff members and one intern.
  • Coordinate all Human Resources operations with a strong drive towards automating the process, ensuring equity, and supporting the DEAIB initiatives of the Museum.
  • Participate in the HRVS Leadership team.
  • Oversee reward & recognition programs.

  • Compensation and Benefits: Managing the organization's compensation and benefits programs, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and market competitiveness.

  • Legal Compliance: Staying updated on labor laws and regulations, ensuring HR practices comply with legal requirements, and liaising with legal counsel as needed.
  • Employee Safety and Wellness: Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, promoting employee wellness programs, and managing workplace incidents or accidents.
  • Diversity and Inclusion: Promoting DEIAB within the organization,
  • HR Administration: Overseeing HR administration processes, such as employee record-keeping and HRIS management.
  • HR Analytics and Reporting: Analyzing HR data and metrics to provide insights and recommendations for improving HR strategies and practices.
  • Employee Relations: Handling employee grievances, conflicts, and disciplinary actions by the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • HRVS Leadership: Lead two professional human resources professionals, including daily direction, goal setting, and performance management.
  • Collaboratively participate in HRVS Leadership team decisions.
  • Policy Development and Compliance: Developing and updating HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications


Education: Bachelor of Science or Arts degree preferred.


Experience: Five (5) years of Human Resources generalist with depth in compensation and benefits experience.

Starting Salary


Exempt (Salaried) $95,000-$115,000/ annually

Vaccination Policy


Staff, interns, and volunteers will be required to show proof that they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment.
