Our client in the construction supply space is currently seeking a career-minded, detail-oriented individual as a full-time HR Assistant/Specialist based out of their Woburn, MA office. You’ll represent one of the largest one stop source for commercial building products including acoustical ceiling systems, architectural doors & hardware, drywall & steel framing, insulation and exterior systems. You’ll assist with the company’s HR functions including recruiting, onboarding, new hire orientations, trainings, and message company policies. Work closely with HR team, improving employee relation projects and build positive relationships with internal staff and support employees with HR related questions, regarding benefits, PTO & sick days, compensation, and policies and procedures. Recruiting:
- Work with hiring managers to fill vacancies using recruitment process
- Complete all required vetting of potential candidates
- Work with HR Team in implementing recruiting strategies
- Assist in screening candidates; participate in initial interviews
- Maintain advertisement for all open positions utilizing HRIS system
Onboarding:
- Communicate employer benefits and company information to new hires
- Be the primary contact for the first 90 days
- Attend weekly on-boarding meetings for Operations Training
- Work with managers to onboard new hires
- Create appropriate files as needed based on position, DOT/CDL/Medical files
Daily Operations:
- Maintain HR Open Enrollment/Benefits
- Perform all aspects of Annual Review as required by FMCSA
- Maintain quarterly random pools for DOT/Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing
- Preparation of Open Enrollment documents
- Assist with Open Enrollment
Training:
- Run reports as needed on all company trainings; work with managers in setting up new trainings.
- Project-oriented assignments as needed in the department.
- Implement Learning Management System
- Assign all trainings as required for new hires and annual trainings
Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with others
- Familiarity with job boards, ATS, HRIS and HR tracking database systems
- College degree, Bachelor's preferred, with experience in an HR-related field
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365 and SharePoint
