Job Description

Location:

  • Currently hybrid (3x in office, 2x remote) in NYC


Summary:

The Human Resources Coordinator aids with and facilitates human resources processes. This role assists the Human Resources Manager with the administration of employee benefits, benefits changes, recruitment, and onboarding processes. This role provides administrative support to the human resources functions as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance, and HRIS entry. The ideal candidate will have a generalist background and strong knowledge of benefits (possible payroll administration)


Essential Functions:

  • Provides support for employees on the interpretation of HR programs, policies, and benefits.
  • Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Assists with processing of terminations.
  • Assists with the preparation of the performance review process.
  • Assists the Human Resources Manager with Human Resource projects and initiatives.
  • Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions
  • Track Professional Development and Volunteer Time Off requests and completion.
  • Assists with new-employee pre-hire paperwork and initial onboarding.
  • Reconciles benefits statements.
  • Assists with recruitment and interview process. Tracks the status of candidates in HRIS and responds with follow-up letters at the end of the recruiting process.
  • Schedules meetings and interviews as requested by the Human Resources Manager.
  • Assists in the administration of various human resource programs.


Background Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of or previous experience in the Specialty Food industry a plus enabling informed recruitment and hiring decisions as well as have a context for company guidelines and policies.
  • Comfortable with using technology on a daily basis. Experience with video conferencing software and/or maintaining the HR portion of a company HRIS a plus.
  • Possess strong HR knowledge as well as familiarity with local, state, and federal industry policies, standards, and laws.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field and 2years of human resource experience; or any combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Experience leading project teams and working collaboratively with others towards a common goal or deliverable.
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) preferred but not required.

Skill & Ability Requirements:

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite,
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt to changes
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Experience with Namely and/or ADP preferred but not required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures.


Travel Requirements:

  • This role requires minimal travel
