This is an exciting opportunity to join our team of correctional professionals at the North Dakota Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (DOCR) as a Human Resources Coordinator. A Human Resources (HR) Coordinator is responsible for completing administrative or technical level duties for the Human Resources division. At the ND DOCR, human resources (HR) partners with leaders and team members for the purpose of fulfilling the Department’s mission, which is transforming lives, influencing change, and strengthening our communities. The DOCR's HR division is a progressive, fast-paced, high-performing team that provides comprehensive HR services and expert consultation to all levels of team members and leaders across the department.

There is opportunity for teleworking one day per week and/or as needed, after six months.
Summary of Work
This is an entry level professional or technical level position. There is an opportunity for this position to grow into a professional Human Resources Manager. This Coordinator role will assist HR Managers and Payroll Officers with scanning and filing documents in team member personnel files, completing forms and writing business letters and also proofreading letters from HR Managers, assist with recruitment of new team members, which includes interviewing, reference checks, and other pre-employment assessments, assisting HR Managers with ADA, FMLA, and FLSA compliance, and employee relations.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires an Associates degree or two years of college level coursework in Human Resources or a related field, or, a high school diploma (or GED) and two years of experience in human resources support or payroll.
A Bachelors degree in Human Resources or a related field is preferred. In addition, preference will be given to applicants with prior human resources experience in corrections or law enforcement.
Must successfully complete an interview and standard background and criminal record check.
