Position Overview


Zenni is looking for a people-centric individual with a commitment to helping others and a friendly attitude. The Human Resources Coordinator will partner with employees across the organization to support the administration and logistics of the employee life cycle. A successful candidate will work well independently and with the team, manage multiple tasks and projects, is articulate, responsive, highly organized, and has a high sense of urgency. This role is great for someone who thrives in a constantly evolving work environment and is based within commuting distance of our Bay Area office.


What We Want You To Own In This Role


  • Manage sensitive and confidential data and files including information like salary, personal information, private health, employee relations, terminations, and organizational changes.
  • Promote positive employee relationships through communication and interpretation of HR policies and procedures by responding to questions timely and with a friendly and helpful approach.
  • Willingness to take on and perform other ad-hoc HR projects and duties as assigned with a “can-do” attitude.
  • Process employee terminations including onboarding paperwork, coordinating final checks, and aiding with the exit process and asset collection where needed.
  • Continually improve existing processes and/or procedures to meet the changing needs of the department and Company.
  • Prepare and send offer letters, administer background checks, collect and process all new hire documentation, I-9, eVerify, coordinate new hire set up, etc.
  • Administer company’s health and wellness benefits using a benefits management system, respond to employee questions and oversee updates related to enrollments and changes, work with benefits broker, participate in renewal strategy meetings, and support Open Enrollment.
  • IIPP/Safety Coordinator working with Facilities personnel for a safe and healthy workplace.
  • Process Worker's Compensation claims, prepares specialized forms and documents as well as file incident reports.
  • Create a seamless pre-boarding and onboarding experience for all new hires. Work with hiring managers to onboard their new hires while collaborating with other departments to facilitate successful onboarding.
  • Responds to requests for employment verifications and unemployment claims.
  • Administration of all leaves of absence, absence management, accommodations, policies, and procedures. Ensures compliance of the Company’s administration of federal and state-mandated leaves by documenting, tracking, and monitoring employee leave of absence such as; Family Medical Leave (FMLA), California Family Rights Leave (CFR), and Disability Leave for lost time, transitional light duty, and return to work.
  • Oversee required harassment prevention training (track completion, reminders, user setup and administration, communication).
  • Promote corporate culture by supporting company meetings and events.
  • Prepare and file EEO-1 and OSHA 300.
  • Assists with immigration processes.


What skills do you need?


  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, follow-through, critical thinking, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, and courteous with all levels of employees and management with the ability to work cross-functionally with various departments.
  • Familiarity and comfortable working in a remote/distributed team.
  • Ability to handle and maintain a high level of confidentiality and common sense regarding sensitive information is a must.
  • Understanding of various employment laws and their impact on HR matters.
  • Computer programs, including Microsoft Office suite of applications and HRIS functionalities.
  • 2-4 years of HR experience, preferably at a fast-growing organization. Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience required.

As of 01/01/2023, the expected salary range for this position is $75,000 to $85,000 USD. Actual pay within this range will be based upon several factors, including without limitation education, work experience, certifications, geographic pay differentials, market conditions, and other business and organizational needs. The Company anticipates that the reasonably expected salary for this position could change in the future and, therefore, the Company retains the right to change, modify, or revisit the salary range for the position for various reasons, including the Company’s business needs.
