The Head of Leadership and Character Development will lead and manage the Leadership Department and provide a world class character-development and leadership curriculum to IMG student-athletes and clients.


Position Responsibilities


Leadership


  • Foster an inclusive, welcoming department culture that values diversity in team composition across race, gender, skillsets, experiences, and backgrounds through intentional hiring practices and ensuring all team members feel appreciated.
  • Lead the expansion of the Leadership department and its programming through developing the strategic vision and innovation roadmap for character-development and leadership, identifying new opportunities to leverage intellectual property on and off campus.
  • Enhance IMG's reputation as a global leader in youth character-development and leadership while supporting and advancing the broader field through research, best practice sharing, and showcasing the pioneering work being done at IMG.
  • Empower student-athletes to win their future by delivering a world-class character-development and leadership program.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration within the department and across the business by driving integration of the core values into day-to-day activities and experiences.


Management


  • Oversee management of the Leadership team and department, including staff feedback, organization and scheduling, curriculum management, business proposals, hiring, onboarding, quality assurance, staff evaluations, and meetings.
  • Deliver to outside groups/teams as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Support the design of customized character-development and leadership programs, curriculum, and content for various audiences including corporate training.
  • Develop and manage revenue streams and reporting for the Leadership department.
  • Develop and deliver engaging, educational content on character-development and leadership principles tailored for diverse individuals across backgrounds, ages, and levels to highlight the immense value of these skills for personal and professional growth.
  • Foster meaningful relationships with the executive team to enhance collaboration and administrative performance.
  • Recruit, develop, motivate and retain expert coaches by building pipelines, providing professional development opportunities, and nurturing the superstars within the current team.
  • Lead curriculum development, review, and knowledge management activities including capturing best practices and research.


Key Results Areas


  • Able to troubleshoot situations and deal with unique scenarios that may arise.
  • Work in partnership with other departments and lead education initiatives.
  • Create a team culture grounded in best practices for character-development and leadership with the ability to mentor and inspire personnel.
  • Ensure all curriculum is upon evidence-based practice, and the most up-to-date research/practices in the field.
  • Relate to a diverse client base and tailor messaging appropriately for groups and individuals from various backgrounds and cultures.


Knowledge, Skills And Abilities


  • Subject matter expertise in character and leadership development with excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills to deliver compelling messaging tailored for diverse audiences and age groups.
  • Minimum requirement of a master's degree in Leadership, Organizational Behavior, Psychology, Education, or related field.
  • Knowledge of best practices in character-development and leadership.
  • Organized, collaborative multitasker able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, while connecting well with a wide range of individuals.
  • Perceived credibility as a subject matter expert in the field of character-development and leadership
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with individuals regarding character-development and leadership roles.
  • 3+ years of experience working in roles of similar responsibility.
  • Highly adaptable and flexible with strong time management abilities and management skills to lead a productive, conducive learning environment.
  • Strong experience working with and presenting to corporate/adult groups. Openness to feedback and exceptional customer service abilities.


Preferred Skills


  • Experience in a leadership role.
  • Ph. D. or equivalent (e.g., EdD) in Leadership, Organizational Behavior, Psychology, Education, or related field.
  • CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Bilingual.
  • 5+ years of experience working in roles of similar responsibility.


Physical Demands and Work Environment


  • Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays is required.
  • Must be able to move around campus which includes gym, turf, fields, etc.
