In Tampa FL, we are seeking a Paralegal/Legal Assistant with 3+ years of Insurance/General Liability (GL) experience.

The Boca Raton office of Luks, Santaniello, Petrillo, Cohen and Peterfriend is seeking a skilled and experienced Litigation Paralegal to support our General Liability (GL) team. Our firm’s 150+ attorneys defend professionals, corporations and their insurance companies out of eleven offices throughout the State of Florida. Our dedicated paralegals are essential in our commitment to securing equal justice in the courtroom for our clients.

You will work closely with our attorneys from the beginning of a case through the end, including through trial. Candidates must have extensive experience with document review, trial preparation, handling discovery, drafting legal documents, and managing case paperwork. Our ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

We have teams in the following areas: General Liability, Wrongful Death, Auto, Trucking, Negligent Security, First Party Property, Construction, Professional, Products and Premises Liability, Worker’s Compensation; and for those that do not enjoy litigation, teams that focus on Early Resolution, Time and Policy Limits Demands and a team that solely focuses on overbilling surgeons and their surgery centers.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Utilize case management system for all ongoing and completed cases
• Create reports and documents for lawyers based on case specifications and requests
• Secretarial duties also required such as scheduling and coordinating depositions and meetings
• Utilize existing files and a variety of other legal research resources to develop information for pending cases
• Help lawyers prepare legal arguments, motions, and other case filings

Requirements and Qualifications

• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Proven ability to handle multiple concurrent responsibilities in a highly dynamic environment
• AIM/Perfect Law experience a plus
• Proficiency with productivity tools such as Google Workspace, Dropbox, and Office 365
• Ability to maintain organized files and databases
• Excellent judgment and demonstrated discretion in handling confidential information
• A minimum of 3+ years’ experience working in insurance defense
• Strong ability to work efficiently and effectively with time-sensitive materials
