Mass Tort Paralegal Or Juris Doctor

The Role:

Torticity is looking for a Mass Tort paralegal or JD with strong interpersonal, communication, time management, and organizational skills who will be highly motivated, accountable, and self-directed. This critical position includes a variety of tasks related to mass torts. The ideal candidate will possess experience preparing plaintiff fact sheets, plaintiff profile forms, and/or census forms for mass tort litigation. Experience with medical record review, settlement document preparation, and lien resolution is a plus. Must be comfortable interviewing claimants by telephone.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

• Perform tasks requiring knowledge of legal terminology and legal processes

• Analyze case reviews, investigate missing information, and document next steps

• Conduct extensive interviews with mass tort claimants by telephone, email, and SMS

• Prepare plaintiff fact sheets, plaintiff profile forms, and census forms for high volume deadline driven case loads

• Review medical records to gather information needed to complete discovery documents

• Proofread and revise documents for contextual, grammatical, typographical, or spelling errors

• Track and report errors and inconsistencies

• Continually evaluate processes and procedures and make recommendations for improvement

• Maintain a confidential HIPAA compliant environment

Experience/Skills:

• Experience working in the Mass Torts industry

• Experience preparing plaintiff fact sheets, plaintiff profile forms, census forms, settlement matrixes and documents.

• Exceptional organizational skills as well as effective communication skills, both written and oral are needed

• Highly self-motivated with the ability to multitask and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

• Demonstrates a high level of professionalism with confidential and sensitive information.

• Acute attention to detail

• Strong critical thinking and research skills

• Ability to work on complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance

• Flexibility to pivot to different projects with little notice

• Medical record review preferred

• Familiarity with lien resolution preferred

• Proficiency with Microsoft office tools and Adobe Acrobat

• Flexibility to work more than 40 hours per week, as needed.

• Knowledge of Spanish language is a plus

• Juris Doctor, bachelor’s degree, paralegal certification or degree, and a minimum of three years of related experience or appropriate combination of education and work experience in a law office.
