Civil Litigation Legal Assistant

West Palm Beach AV rated litigation firm seeking professional, self-motivated legal assistant to be part of a great work environment. This individual should have 5 years minimum experience in Civil litigation. The potential candidate would cover a partner and eventually, 2 associates.

Additional abilities sought are exceptional organizational skills and a keen attention to detail. The potential candidate must have excellent writing abilities, be self-motivated and project driven.

Task examples include communicating with clients, insurance companies, medical providers, etc.; gathering pertinent information as it relates to the department's caseload; reviewing, organizing and analyzing materials; preparing pleadings and discovery; conducting research, supporting attorneys with other duties as required. Paralegal certification is a plus but not required.

Skills:

• Proficiency in English
• Satisfactory knowledge of day-to-day operations of a legal office
• Familiarity with law, legal procedures and protocols under State and Federal court systems
• Ability to draft basic legal forms/documents
• Must have excellent organizational skills and be able to work independently as well as with other team members
• Ability to juggle multiple activities and work under pressure
• Working knowledge of case management software and other basic computer software
• At least 5 years proven working experience as Civil Litigation legal assistant/paralegal
• Personal injury law experience is required
• Excellent writing and typing skills with at least 65 wpm
• Comfortable with communicating with clients and other outside representatives on a daily basis
• Proficient in calendaring/docketing of court mandated appointments, etc.
