The Paralegals will assist attorney(s) by providing clerical and research support services including document preparation and review; interviewing staff members; research, investigations, and fact checking; discovery preparation and response and trial preparation support.
Responsibilities
- Meets with attorney, clients, and other professional to discuss assigned cases or projects
- Develops and maintains electronic records relative to cases and files.
- Drafts legal documents including routine pleadings and motions; files motions and pleadings according to judicial procedures.
- Assists attorney with trial preparation, which may include attending trial and hearings.
- Keep in contact with client throughout the life cycle of the case.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Understanding of legal language and principles, or other related matters.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Familiarity with Smokeball, or other case management software.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise good judgement.
- Spanish speaking is preferred
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to function well in a high paced environment.
Qualifications
- Detail oriented
- 1-3 years experience
- Associates of Science Degree in Paralegal and/or Legal Studies or any other higher education (i.e. Bachelors Degree)
