Job Description
Nurse Paralegal Position


Position Summary


At Perfect Fit Placement we are seeking to find a Nurse paralegal for our location in Orlando,Florida who is skilled in both the legal and medical fields. The Nurse Paralegal will be called upon to investigate and provide their professional opinion regarding legal matters that involve health or medical issues to help in malpractice law suits, health insurance claims, workers’ compensation claims, and personal injury law suits, among others.



  • Follow-Up with medical providers & update file accordingly.
  • Read and review interviews & notes.
  • E-file legal documents in Florida’s E-Portal System.
  • Assist attorneys with discussions of clients’ injuries, CPT codes billed, and medical treatment received.
  • Review discovery.
  • Assist Managing Attorney in evaluating department procedures and workflow regularly to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Document management using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat
  • Create full sets of medical records & bills.
  • Send out correspondence to parties/non-parties via email, regular mail, or certified mail.
  • Train staff regarding department procedures and systems.
  • Assist attorneys in preparing for depositions, hearings, trials, and conferences.
  • Communicate with clients.
  • Attend CME’s with clients, if needed.
  • Set up Court Calls or Zoom for hearings.
  • Review, rename & audit medical records, bills, NPNP records, LOPs, PIP logs & health insurance liens.
  • Obtain, review, analyze, and prepare medical records summaries and chronologies, and other pertinent medical and legal documents related to case medical facts.
  • Request medical records, diagnostic CDs & records.
  • Schedule depositions, pre-depositions, meetings, meditations, hearings
  • Audit medical bills.
  • Research, evaluate, and retain medical experts
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Maintain attorney’s calendar
  • Draft legal court documents, such as pleadings, motions, affidavits, Discovery responses and subpoenas.
  • Screen medical records to assess if cases are deemed a TBI case.
  • Pay invoices for medical records, bills, & diagnostic CDs.
  • Prepare medical notebooks for depositions, mediation & trials.
  • Attend 60 Day and Final Trial meetings virtually or in person.


Job Schedule


  • Full-time, generally 8:00am to 5:00pm, M-F, occasional after-hours, particularly in assisting with trials


License and Certifications


  • Proficient in document organization (merge, split, reorder, delete, and redact) of PDF documents with Adobe Acrobat.
  • Experience e-filing in both state and federal courts preferred.
  • Regular travel to Boca Raton office (for candidates in the Orlando area).
  • Teamwork oriented.
  • Trial experience preferred.
  • Ability to manage a heavy workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certified Legal Nurse Consultant (CLNC) or Legal Nurse Consultant Certified (LNCC) credentials preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to communicate with clients and co-workers effectively and efficiently.
  • 1+ years of litigation experience required.
  • Possess excellent organization skills and be able to multitask and prioritize workload.
  • RN or LPN required.


Salary: 65k – 80k per year based on experience.
