Executive Director Manufacturing Jobs

Invenia Group are partnered with a highly reputable CDMO offering clinical to commercial manufacturing for the biologics and cell and gene therapy industries.

We are searching for an Executive Director Manufacturing to head up their new state of the art GMP facility, focused on viral vector manufacturing. The site is already operational and will be running at full capacity be the end of 2023, with this role overseeing a headcount of circa 30 individuals across process development, clinical and commercial manufacturing. This role will report directly into the division GM.

Role and responsibilities

• Prepare capital budgets for the site activities.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement by instilling lean and six sigma processes across GMP operations.
• Develop and review relevant protocols, documents and logistics for cGMP compliance.
• Oversight of operational startup and validation of the site.
• Participation in client and prospect meetings to discuss the acquisition and execution of viral vector projects.
• Overall oversight of entire manufacturing operation, ensuring projects are executed at the highest quality, delivered on time and within budget.
• Key figure in recruiting and training of operational team members.

Skills and experience required

• Experience overseeing the start up of a new manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of lean and six sigma principles.
• Excellent communication skills capable of inspiring a team and developing strong relationships with prospective clients.
• Leadership experience within a CDMO environment.
• Extensive experience in viral vector manufacturing.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field (e.g., chemical engineering, pharmaceutical sciences, or related discipline).
