Director Of Procurement - Construction Manufacturing

We are a modular steel construction company based out of Long Beach, CA. We are a fast-paced, fun environment!
We currently have an immediate need for a Director of Procurement. Must have experience in construction/manufacturing, extensive knowledge of ERP systems and ability to implement processes.
What You Will Be Doing
Responsibilities Include (not Limited To)

• Leading the implementation of procurement operations, standards, and turning data into actionable insights on the companies upcoming ERP platform
• Maintain and implement construction proforma/budget large-scale and complex steel construction projects, HSS and CFS superstructures, built as volumetric-modular units
• Adhere to and enforce safety best practices, policies, and procedures
• Mentor and supervise purchasing and warehouse/inventory team
• Maintaining knowledge of the market, in addition to current prices and fair rates for goods
• Overseeing sources for purchasing supplies
• Planning policies and procedures for efficiently, honestly, economically, and productively purchasing goods for supply chain production and operation
• Assist in settling invoices or contract disputes
• Develop and implement new purchasing strategies to deliver ongoing cost reductions and process simplification
• Maintaining company budget and streamlining costs
• Document best practices in the purchasing process and seek to optimize where applicable
• Establish guidelines for approving purchase orders, set purchasing policies, manage inventory and budget for materials
• Adhere to and maximize purchasing budget
• Maintain and establish new relationships with vendors to ensure adequate resources for all projects and to continually improve pricing and quality of work
• Monitoring, reviewing, and analyzing bids and quotes with suppliers, including the negotiation of service agreements and contracts

What You Need for this Position

• 10+ years Procurement experience
• Strong proficiency in construction materials is required
• Extensive field knowledge
• Excellent communication, multitasking & organizational skills
• Ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences
• Bachelor's Degree in Construction, Supply Chain, Engineering or related
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to direct others according to company standards
• 5+ years Management experience
• Demonstrated knowledge in setting up costing templates and budgets within a range of software types
• Extensive knowledge in procurement as it relates to large-scale steel construction projects or metal fabrication processes
• Adept at negotiating with vendors while cultivating long-term relationships
• Advanced knowledge in corporate ERP
• Highly organized & detail-oriented
