The Opportunity
The Outlook at Windhaven
Now under construction and opening in 2024, The Outlook at Windhaven will offer both incredible independent living and comprehensive Assisted Living and Memory Support on its West Plano campus. The Outlook will have at its core a single mission: to be a thriving, engaging community where seniors will be able to enjoy every moment of every day. This will be a vibrant place, filled with interesting people and possibilities, where residents will be surrounded by beautiful spaces indoors and out and enjoy living in the heart of West Plano with all that it offers.
The Role – Executive Director
Reporting to Forefront Living’s COO and working with its CEO and COO as a member of the leadership team, the Executive Director of The Outlook will be responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the community, including full profit and loss responsibility.
Responsibilities
The Executive Director will plan, implement, and evaluate all aspects of operations. He/she will recruit and train team members, have a direct supervisory responsibility for team members to create and maintain a highly functioning team environment, maintain high customer satisfaction, and ensure a quality-oriented workforce. The Executive Director will be responsible for complying with all local, state, and federal regulations, and will focus on creating a safe working and living environment. Specifically, the Executive Director will:
• Model a service attitude and lead by example, taking ownership in solving problems and taking the initiative to make things better, always being friendly and courteous to residents and co-workers.
• Ensure resident/patient, visitor, and co-worker safety by remaining aware of and reporting any new or existing safety hazards.
• Maintain good attendance record and support all Forefront Living initiatives.
• Recruit, hire, train, coach, and evaluate departmental staff.
• Communicate and champion all Forefront Living initiatives to staff and community partners.
• Plan, develop, organize, and implement business development programs that ensure facility attains or exceeds occupancy projections.
• Plan, develop, implement, direct, and support the organization’s fiscal function and performance.
• Participate in the development of the facility’s plans and programs as a strategic community partner.
• Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory action.
• Enhance and/or develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures of the organizations (Forefront Living) by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the corporation.
• Continuously seen improvement of the budgeting process through education of department managers on financial issues impacting their budgets.
• Represent The Outlook to the public with experience in donor relations and educational presentations.
• Actively participate in community activities and civic events.
• Ensure campus compliance of all State and Federal regulations.
• Assist in fundraising as directed by the Forefront Living COO.
• Be responsible for total operations of The Outlook including fiscal analysis and program modifications necessary due to variances.
• Ensure facility’s exposure to risk is minimized by cultivating and maintaining resident, family and staff relationships and ensuring regulatory requirements are met.
• Build and maintain an effective team of departments to ensure and facilitate efficient day-to-day operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience
• Five (5) or more years of experience in Long Term Care (LTC) administration, senior housing management, independent living or assisted living. Holding a current Texas LNHA is required; if out-of-state, qualified and willing to obtain Texas LNHA certification.
• Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) management experience preferred; experience in a start-up strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated excellence in budget development and compliance.
• Experience building and leading a team to success while fostering a culture of accountability, inclusiveness, teamwork, and collaboration with others.
• Proven ability to work with volunteers, community leaders, organizations, and businesses to advocate for and promote the value and mission of Forefront Living.
• Experience collaborating with, leading, and managing a Board of Trustees comprised of prominent members of the community.

• Demonstrated expertise in all aspects of Medicare/Medicaid programs, including reimbursement programs, with demonstrated ability to maximize reimbursement levels, understanding of Texas QRS program.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with a broad range of individuals of varied backgrounds.
• Ability to comply with the Resident Bill of Rights and the Employee Responsibilities
• Ability to comply with organizational and departmental safety policies and procedures.
• Skilled at reading people and forging cooperative efforts between and among teammates and other departments of the organization, thereby leading teams to success and fostering a culture of accountability, inclusiveness, teamwork, and collaboration.
• Strong team-building skills supported by a positive attitude and mature personality conducive to effective interaction with diverse groups.
• Persuasive and articulate communicator with excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills who can represent the Forefront Living family to diverse constituencies.
• Highly organized with the ability to independently handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines and fundraising goals.
• Demonstrated proficiency in a variety of computer software applications and Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
