The Human Resource Bureau at the Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) is expanding our Employee Relations team and we are seeking to add an integrity-driven team player who loves collaboration and problem-solving! The Employee Relations team builds and maintains integral HR programs, policies, and consultative relationships with the DOT’s employees and leaders to help ensure the Iowa DOT is a great place to work.

Your Day-to-day Responsibilities Will Include

• Providing employee relations support, consultation, and resolution guidance for employees and leaders in the agency
• Interpreting and developing policies/procedures related to employee relations
• Analyzing workplace environment complaints and recommending appropriate resolutions
• Preparing presentations and providing training on key employee relations issues based on agency goals and HR strategy
• Serving as the agency coordinator for unemployment

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Bachelor's degree.

• A combination of a total of four years of education and full-time experience in technical or professional human resources work, where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university course work equals one year of full-time experience.
• Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes three years of full-time work performing technical human resources work.
