About The Role

Okta is hiring an Employee Communications Senior Specialist to join our Global Employee Communications Team. Company culture and reputation is one of our key priorities this year in Global Communications, and this role is critical for raising employee confidence in our company direction and strategy while also showcasing the heart and soul of Okta's brand, culture, and core values.

In this role, you will support Okta’s company-wide strategic communications, our global employee communications channels, and much more. This person will report directly to Okta’s Senior Director, Global Employee and Executive Communications.

Responsibilities

• Write, edit, and review high-impact messaging and content across a variety of channels, such as email, presentations, intranet articles, Slack messages, video scripts, and other supporting collateral.
• Support company-wide strategic communications to clearly articulate Okta’s vision, strategy, and cross-functional priorities across Okta’s global workforce.
• Support company-wide change management communications and cascades, including but not limited to, priority announcements, organizational communications, and crisis communications.
• Support the planning, execution, and reporting of the Company-Wide All Hands.
• Manage Okta’s company-wide communication channels and regular reporting, including but not limited to email, Simplrr employee intranet (The Landing), quarterly newsletter (The Roundup), and Slack.
• Actively partner with the broader Global Communications Team and key stakeholders across Okta to ensure alignment of internal messaging, timing, and editorial strategies.
• Support the planning, execution, and reporting of the Global Internal Communications Survey.
• Maintain employee communications activities calendar in Asana.
• Assist with the development and implementation of an integrated Global Employee Communications Strategy.

Required Skills & Experience

We are searching for a skilled communicator and storyteller who is intellectually curious (starts with the “why”), and passionate about employee communications. This person is an agile, resourceful team player with strong project management skills and the ability to adapt to change in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong project management skills with keen attention to details;
• 3-5 years of internal communications experience;
• Ability to work with all levels of employees, including senior leaders.
• Experience with company-wide All Hands meetings preferred;
• Excellent written/verbal communications and presentation skills;
• Experience using Google Suite (Docs, Slides, Sheets, Forms) preferred;
• Experience with content management systems and internal communications tools;
• Communications experience in technology or enterprise technology companies is preferred;
• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications or a related field;
• Excellent management and organization skills, which will be demonstrated through working on multiple projects and working to deadlines;

Below is the annual On Target Compensation (OTE) range for candidates located in California, Colorado, New York and Washington. Your actual OTE, which is inclusive of base salary and incentive compensation, will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable) and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual OTE range for this position for candidates located in California, Colorado, New York, and Washington is between:

$106,000—$143,000 USD

The OTE range for this position for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay area is between:

$117,000—$158,000 USD
