The Employee Relations Specialist assists the operation of the Human Resources department. Under general direction of the Vice President of Talent Management, the individual will be an instrumental advisor and resource to management on the subject of company policy and federal and state employment laws. The individual will partner with the Human Resources team and operations management to investigate, gather data, and other relevant facts of employee grievances and complaints. The individual will also assist in the administration of policies and procedures that relate to leave of absence and disability laws.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct investigations on complaints and other high-leveraged allegations in order to mitigate risk and minimize legal action. Responsible for investigating and working with Director of Employee Relations to respond to government agency inquiries including DOL and EEOC.
- Partners with leadership and employees to develop and implement We Are Radnet action plans.
- Provides consultation and recommendations to staff and managers in the interpretation of policies and procedures, including conducting training/educational sessions to staff and managers.
- Conducts exit interviews, analyzes data and makes recommendations to the management team for corrective action and continuous improvement.
- Assists, as needed, in labor relations activities.
- Conducts employee surveys to obtain employee feedback. Identifies employee concerns and monitors overall employee satisfaction.
- Responsible for assuring policies are maintained, kept current, and are in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Continually review policies for compliance with current laws and employment issues.
- Administers employee relations program which addresses consistent application of human resources policies, including progressive discipline counseling, and termination issues. Draft employee corrective actions, performance improvement plans, and termination documentation for assigned employees. Makes appropriate recommendations for corrective action that aligns with company policies, practices and culture.
- Other duties and special projects as directed by the Employee Relations Director, Regional HR Directors, and/or Vice President of HR.
- Assures compliance with the federal, state, and local laws pertaining to requests for accommodations related to Americans with Disabilities Act and other federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to persons with disabilities, including FMLA, and LOA requests.
- Partners with leadership team in designing and executing activities designed to enrich morale and employee commitment. Support leadership to recognize and demonstrate appreciation to employees consistently.
- Completes special projects by clarifying project objective, setting timetables and schedules, conducting research, developing and organizing information, and fulfilling transactions.
- Recognize compliance issues and proactively suggest solutions or best practices to address issues.

Minimum Qualifications, Education, and Experience
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; strong editor and proofreader.
- Moderate level of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
- Strong knowledge of federal employment laws.
- Must be able to handle confidential matters with discretion.
- Strong knowledge of state employment laws, in multiple states including Maryland and New York.
- Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Minimum of three to five years directly related experience in the full spectrum of Employee Relations matters in multi-state, multi-site organization(s).
- Ethical, with a commitment to company values.
- General knowledge and familiarity using HRIS systems and HR data, preferably with ADP.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, in Human Resources, Labor Relations, or closely related field.

- Practices universal safety precautions.
- Promotes good public relations on the phone, via email, and in person.
Physical Demands
This position requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, twisting, reaching with hands and arms, using hands and fingers, handling, or feeling, speaking and listening. Also, must be able to lift up to 20 pounds, occasionally.
Working Environment
Coordinators work in an administrative office setting with low to moderate noise level.
