Director, Platform Technology Audit

Pinterest is hiring a Director of Platform Technology Audit for our Internal Audit team. This role will act as a key player in advising and helping manage a diverse set of organizational risks while designing and developing the IA team for the future. This role will also gain exposure to senior leaders across the organization including the Audit Committee members while delving into risk areas beyond traditional internal controls over financial reporting including but not limited to advising/auditing on Information Security, Data Privacy, Machine Learning and AI used to drive content moderation practices.

What you’ll do:

• Partner with the organization and contribute meaningfully to the company’s evolution to a common controls framework
• Lead and manage risk-based Platform IT risk assessments, integrated audits and/or process reviews, cyber security and privacy audits, and system development lifecycle reviews.
• Build and lead a team of risk and control professionals (both internal and external resources) who possess the knowledge and technical capability to drive value-based audits
• Implement a risk assessment process by developing and owning the annual internal audit plan for Platform IT processes
• Drive Platform IT risk management conversations with the Pinterest Audit Committee and the Pinterest Senior Executive Team
• Serve as “go-to” person for Platform technology risk and controls within the organization and be an insightful resource for strategizing on implementing controls in an efficient and effective manner while balancing the pace and velocity of the organization
• Continuously help improve the company’s ability to mitigate risks and develop recommendations on how to integrate controls as part of daily operations
• Recommend controls to be implemented as part of new project launches and collaborate with teams on controls implementation.
• Establish and own relationships with key partners as their strategic risk advisor on establishing internal controls and process efficiencies, providing insight and direction on risk management

What we’re looking for:

• Deep knowledge of technology marketplace environments/controls including both 3rd party and home-grown systems
• Ability to work collaboratively, present to people at all levels of the organization, make actionable recommendations and use influence to ensure execution
• Strong risk management experience, including: performing assessments and audits, driving issue impact discussions, and the ability to think strategically about remediation strategies
• Experience with regulators and external auditor requirements and expectations
• Mission-driven, enthusiastic to learn and grow; team-oriented with a positive attitude and able to work in hyper-growth, fast paced environment
• PinFlex estimated in-office frequency (e.g. Our PinFlex future of work philosophy requires this role to visit a Pinterest office for collaboration approximately 1x per quarter). • Minimum of 10+ years of experience, preferably with a mix of external audit/consulting and in-house internal audit experience within a publicly traded companies
