Responsibilities:

• Be a subject matter expert in and advocate for all facets of our AWS implementation
• Implement and champion our core platform services
• Collaborate with application and business stakeholders to ensure high-quality product is developed and deployed in production.
• Provide support for our Platform and escalate issues, as needed
• Help design and drive the implementation of our Observability strategy
• Implement emerging tools and processes necessary to achieve required SLOs
• Accountable for continuous improvement in supporting cloud-native platforms
• Implement and champion our self-service enabled infrastructure-as-a-code solutions
• Help design and drive the implementation of our Cloud security and compliance strategy

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Extensive experience with deploying applications that utilize Service Meshes
• Advanced knowledge of Linux administration.
• Expert knowledge in designing & implementing infrastructure-as-a-code (IaC) via CI/CD automation
• Advanced programming experience in Python or other object-oriented programming languages.
• Advanced knowledge in AWS serverless technologies
• Advanced knowledge of Platform Orchestration using ContainerD, Helm, Kubernetes
• Expert knowledge of AWS platform technologies
• Expert knowledge of Infrastructure and Application Monitoring concepts
• Extensive experience administering Kubernetes clusters.

Basic Qualifications:

• IAC Provisioning, e.g. Terraform, Cloudformation, AWS CDK, and/or Pulumi
• Demonstrable, expert-level, hands-on experience with the following:
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; may consider relevant experience in lieu of a degree
• 8+ years’ experience in software engineering with a degree; 12+ years’ experience in software engineering / system administration in lieu of a degree
• Cloud and Infrastructure monitoring tools, e.g. Datadog, Papertrail, Zabbix, ELK (or variants), and/or Prometheus.
• CI/CD Scheduler(s), e.g. Jenkins, Gitlab, Github Actions, and/or TFS
• Version Control Systems, e.g. TFS, Git, Gitlab, Artifactory/its competitors
• IAC Configuration, e.g. Ansible, Puppet, and/or Chef

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

• Extensive experience implementing secure and compliant Kubernetes platforms.
• Extensive experience implementing secure techniques related to Regulatory Compliance (SOC2, HiTrust, HIPAA)
• Extensive experience with various messaging systems, such as Kafka or RabbitMQ
• Extensive experience with intrusion detection systems.
• Extensive experience with GitOps principals.
• Extensive experience deploying and managing stateful distributed service in Kubernetes.
• AWS Solutions Architect Professional Certificate

Work Conditions:

• Ability to travel, if required.
