About the Director, Information Technology position:

Reporting to the Vice President, Information Technology, the Director, Information Technology is a highly skilled, self-motivated individual responsible for driving excellence in development and delivery of existing platforms and new solutions as part of our scaled agile scrum development organization.

Director, Information Technology - Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Responsibility for design, development, management, and implementation of organizational information systems, proprietary software applications, and company technological roadmap
• Technology leader and thought partner to Avalon
• Act as technology SME for internal constituents, existing customers, and prospective clients
• Develop and mentor direct reports and raise level of engagement within the IT staff

Director, Information Technology - Qualifications:

• Extensive experience leading agile scrum teams
• Prior healthcare experience required
• Environment: AWS, JAVA, Linux, Chiapas, LifeRay, Jetty, SQL Server
• Demonstrated expertise in engaging and managing 3rd party partners and vendors
• Manage development budget
• Ability to lead geographically dispersed teams (including offshore contractors)
• Experience with JIRA to manage the work item pipeline
• 10+ years overall IT experience in applications development, database development and administration, QA, EDI, and/or IT architecture
• Continuous improvement mindset
• Strong understanding of development processes and development metrics
• 5+ years’ experience in IT management/leadership.
• Extensive experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
• Good understanding of healthcare-based interoperability (HL7, EDI, FHIR)

Director, Information Technology - Qualifications Preferred:

• MBA or another relevant advanced degree
• Successful experience at an early-stage, private equity-backed company
• Experience driving an agile and SAFe transformation
