Job Description

Job Summary
The Global IT division of TYLin is in search of a talented and self-driven Director of Business Applications and Development for overseeing the strategic planning, implementation, maintenance, integration, and enhancement of all enterprise-level software applications critical to our operations. Your primary focus will be on managing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), and custom applications tailored to our specific needs.

Responsibilities
Leadership and Strategy:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy aligning with the company's business objectives and growth plans.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to understand functional requirements and translate them into effective application solutions.
  • Assess the existing application landscape, identify gaps, and recommend improvements to optimize efficiency and productivity.
ERP, HRIS, and CRM Management:
  • Monitor and maintain the functionality, performance, and security of these systems, working closely with the Business, Shared Services, IT teams and vendors.
  • Coordinate with the Shared Service Leaders in the implementation and integration of ERP, HRIS, and CRM systems, ensuring they meet business needs and industry best practices.
  • Train end-users and support ongoing system usage, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
Custom Application Development:
  • Lead a team of developers and analysts in designing, developing, testing, and deploying custom applications tailored to the company's unique requirements.
  • Conduct thorough testing and quality assurance processes to deliver robust, reliable, and user-friendly applications.
  • Utilize agile development methodologies to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of applications that meet business requirements and user expectations.
Vendor Management:
  • Collaborate with vendors to stay informed about updates, new features, and industry trends, ensuring that the company's application suite remains current and competitive.
  • Evaluate potential software vendors and manage existing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts and service-level agreements as needed.
Data Security and Compliance:
  • Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate annual security and compliance audits.
  • Implement and enforce data security protocols to safeguard sensitive information and protect against potential data breaches.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations and industry standards.
Budget and Resource Management:
  • Perform cost-benefit analyses for IT initiatives and investments to ensure they deliver value and align with the company’s strategic objectives.
  • Prepare and manage the departmental budget, optimizing expenditure while meeting project requirements.
  • Allocate resources effectively to support project deadlines and business priorities.
Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential impact on the company's operations.
  • Champion the adoption of innovative technologies to enhance business processes and competitive advantage.
Qualifications
  • Familiarity with engineering industry standards, processes, and requirements is advantageous.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, related field, or equivalent experience. A master’s degree is a plus.
  • Excellent project management skills, ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, and deliver on schedule.
  • Extensive knowledge of ERP, HRIS, and CRM systems, along with hands-on experience in custom application development. Experience with Deltek (Vision, VantagePoint, Costpoint) and Workday a plus.
  • Strong leadership skills with prior experience managing and motivating a team of IT professionals.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a proactive, strategic mindset.
  • A proven track record in successfully leading and implementing change initiatives within a large-scale, complex business environment.
  • 10 years+ experience in managing ERP, HRIS, CRM, and custom application development within a complex organizational setting.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of collaborating with various stakeholders at different levels of the organization.
