Job Summary:
The Director/Senior Manufacturing Manager will be responsible for managing and supporting our production operations. This individual will lead our Operations Data Management, Manufacturing, Quality Control, Distribution, Planning, Purchasing, Supply Chain, and Production Engineering functions in support of our growth. As part of a small group, managers are expected to take an active role in both the development and implementation of processes and operations. The successful candidate must have a track record of success in product development and manufacturing world-class, high-quality reagents, as well as experience implementing manufacturing information systems. This role requires excellent leadership skills, expertise in distributing high-growth products, and team development experience.
Job duties:
- Lead and motivate a team of professionals in day-to-day reagent manufacturing operations, including Production, Distribution, Process Engineering, Quality Control, Purchasing, and Planning, to ensure efficient and effective operations.
- Continuously evaluate enhancements in manufacturing and operation processes and technologies and deploy robust processes for impactful improvement in margin and revenue.
- Work with corporate leaders to determine inventory goals to meet commercial sales demand and ensure
- Plan supply chain strategies to optimize continuity, supplier performance, and working capital, while developing strong relationships with suppliers. Determine best approaches in selecting and consolidating vendors, work cross-functionally to understand internal stakeholders' needs, and evaluate in-sourcing vs. outsourcing decisions to achieve cost efficiencies, reduce business risks, and improve customer satisfaction.

- Provide operational leadership in New Product Development programs to ensure new products have robust operational scalabilities for manufacturing, supply chain, and quality. Act as an integral part of the New Product teams to ensure scalable product design by providing expertise in design for manufacturing, value stream analysis, process development, and supply chain optimization.
- Lead the development of production and data management systems to enable high-quality manufacturing operations including electronic batch records, process control reporting, inventory reporting, data collection/analytics, product performance tracking, and customer feedback tracking.
- Evaluate and determine implementation strategies for information systems used in manufacturing, including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), to manage production and inventory effectively.
- Develop capacity and budget plans, and ensure the intelligent and efficient deployment of resources.
- Lead supervision of production to meet sales, working capitals, and new product introduction objectives.
- Develop and implement strategies to achieve and sustain 5-year growth targets, including identifying areas for improvement and driving change to optimize performance.
- Deploy lean manufacturing principles to continuously drive improvement in distribution, quality, and cost, and establish a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
- Train and develop junior staff, identify training areas to help the company acquire critical capabilities, and provide guidance and support to enhance their skills.

Preferred educational and experimental background:
* Minimum of 10 years of related experience in Engineering or Life Sciences fields, with a Bachelor's degree in a related subject matter.
* Proven track record of successfully implementing manufacturing information systems, including MES or ERP systems.
* Minimum of 7 years previous leadership experience managing supervisors, managers, engineers, operators, and technicians.
* Extensive experience in supply chain, reagent manufacturing, and new product management with knowledge of production planning and budgeting, preferably in a life science lab production setting.
* Demonstrated success in completing operations programs, including new product development, quality management, and cost improvement.
* Strong work ethic and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and agile start-up environment.
* Excellent skills in planning, managing priorities, and working with interdisciplinary teams.
