POSITION: Director, Human Resources - North America


Summary


The primary function of this role is to guide and manage Human Resources services for our North America business (US & Canada). The role will cover all general aspects of HR in support of business initiatives and the global HR strategy. The Human Resources Director originates and leads HR’s practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture emphasizing quality, productivity, goal attainment and empowerment. The HR Director is responsible for the development of processes and metrics that support the achievement of McLarens North America’s business goals. Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer, the role will be responsible for all aspects of HR for North America, working closely with business leaders, and regional HR colleagues to ensure all HR duties are undertaken in accordance with employment law, company policy and ensuring any risk to the business is minimized. This position is based in Peachtree Corners.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the HR strategy aligned to the North American business objectives and global HR initiatives.
  • Partner the management team to project manage organizational and procedural changes within the business.
  • Support and coach the management team on all people leadership matters, including business change and transformation. Forming strong relationships with the management team to be able to challenge and coach in a high-performance environment.
  • Keep up to date with HR legislation by researching and attending necessary events, before providing suitable interpretation to Leaders
  • Liaise with Executives, Directors, and Managers to understand their HR requirements and ensure they are fully informed of the corporate HR strategy.
  • Manage and develop the HR department to ensure quality services and advice are provided across the region.
  • Monitor, measure and report on HR issues, opportunities and development plans and achievements within agreed formats and timescales
  • Lead the work to regularly review the company's talent management processes within the business areas, including performance/potential management, resource planning and succession planning.
  • Manage Recruitment and Generalist functions
  • Update the company server, intranet and website with timely, relevant forms, policies and procedures to ensure accessibility for employees at all times.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate systems for measuring metrics that support the achievement of business goals, necessary aspects of HR and training and development.
  • Facilitate as a mediator when required to try to resolve employee grievances
  • Be responsible for all HR management and development (including recruitment and selection policy/practices, discipline, grievance, mentoring, salary and conditions, contracts, training and development, talent management, succession planning, new hire induction/onboarding, driving performance appraisals and any other HR related issues).
  • Where necessary, work in partnership on projects to aid continuous improvement and implement improvement programs (e.g. changes to working practices, organizational changes and business “excellence”).
  • Deliver and report on the employee engagement survey to ensure feedback from employees is collated and interpreted correctly to help improve employee engagement.

Education & Experience:


BA/BS required. PHR/SPHR/CP/SCP certification and/or MBA preferred
