Role Overview
Our distinct brand of hospitality is integral to the experience. A blend of casual warmth and professional finesse, it arises from the personal bonds formed as we welcome all guests to our sanctuary and into the family. The Director of Hospitality will steer and elevate this facet of our identity.
Collaborating closely with head office hospitality units (hospitality development, culinary, beverage), while lending support to Lodge and Area Management teams across 11 lodges, the Director of Hospitality will design and execute strategies and initiatives for lodge and brand services. Balancing the unique needs of remote lodges with the efficiencies of standardized approaches, they will mentor Lodge and Area Managers to ensure that lodge operations align with service standards, cater to guest desires, bolster revenues, and optimize financial performance. With keen insight into guest expectations and business acumen, coupled with impeccable communication skills, the Director of Hospitality will forge a strategic hospitality blueprint. This role, based in Banff's head office, demands frequent travel to the lodges.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with senior leadership to nurture a culture centered on safety, optimal experiences for employees and guests, community responsibility, and environmental stewardship, while achieving superior financial outcomes.
Assist in devising and executing goals, key outcomes, and initiatives in harmony with overarching business strategy.
Focus on standardization, operational efficiency, and cutting-edge processes across lodges, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Spearhead hospitality endeavors through innovative technology adoption.
Provide leadership to the Banff Hospitality team, enabling them to fulfill their aspirations and objectives.
Mentor Lodge Management to elevate operational practices.
Analyze financial reports with Lodge Managers to gauge hospitality operational performance against budget.
Review and convey online guest feedback to the Operational Management Team, facilitating corrective actions where necessary.
Assist Lodge and Area Management in implementing and Alterra hospitality-related initiatives at the lodges.
Participate in vital meetings with leadership and project teams, contributing insights for timely task completion.
Foster synergy between Area Management and Operational goals.
Assist in formulating the Hospitality operating budget alongside relevant stakeholders.
Aid Lodge and Area Management in crafting hospitality-related business strategies.
Develop and enforce key performance objectives that align with guest expectations, workforce efficiency, and business growth.
Enhance inter-departmental collaboration, garnering support for operations as needed.
Effectively manage multiple projects, prioritizing tasks and goals with a goal-oriented approach.
Contribute to health, safety, and sustainability initiatives.
Engage in field program support during area visits, as required.
