We are responsible for the implementation of the new go-to-market strategy within the newly created CardioMetabolic team and are searching for several Business Directors to pave this path forward with us.
The CardioMetabolic Team is evolving the way we operate and design a business model that can be responsive to fast-changing customer needs to deliver the right solutions at the right place at the right time. The team is focused on providing our HCPs and patients with solutions they love and how we partner (agile & customer centric), resulting in measurable improvement in patient outcomes, high employee satisfaction and growth for our business.

The Business Director is responsible for successfully leading between 8 to 12-person sales team, promoting Toujeo, Soliqua and Multaq to Endocrinologists, PCPs, and Cardiologists. Within a highly competitive marketplace, you will be called upon to successfully lead and motivate your team to execute the national sales strategy, supporting the initiatives set forth in the strategic plan. The Business Director will act as the owner of the franchise region and be the voice of the region for marketing needs. You will be responsible for developing and implementing the digital strategy based on customer/region dynamics. demonstrate strong P&L and budget management skills.
  • Be an expert in the clinical data, which affects current product promotion, disease state and market trends.
  • Engage with the data, working with internal data specialists to create actionable insights that help HCPs serve patients better and operate more effectively.
  • Responsible for the oversight of all aspects of sales, managed markets pull through, local speaker/thought leader development, promotional programming, and budget management for your region.
  • Coach, train, develop, and lead an accomplished team of Area Business Managers.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other Business Directors, brand marketing, payer marketing, field reimbursement teams, managed markets field teams, medical affairs and field teams, senior management and all other departments necessary in order to facilitate achievement of sales objectives.
  • Spend majority of your time in the field with ABMs in order to support individual development, as well as provide coaching, direction and feedback.
  • Identify gaps in capabilities and customer needs within the region and help develop a plan of action to mitigate risks
  • Establish positive working relationships with all key customer segments (internal and external).
  • Develop regional business plans based on national sales goals, expectations and available resources, including Regional and Territory strategies and tactics, as well as resource allocation.
  • Reports directly to the Head of National Sales.
About You
  • Demonstrate advanced clinically-based selling skills.
  • Can dynamically adjust priorities due to changing circumstances. An agile learner who is comfortable operating in complex environments. Demonstrated Leadership Experience
  • Cardiovascular or diabetes experience preferred
  • Minimum preferred skills:
  • Co-promotion experience preferred.
  • Work Experience:
  • Physical Requirements: n/a
  • 5-7+ years pharmaceutical/biotech sales experience, including specialty sales, with demonstrated successful sales results
  • Strong data analytics skills with ability to apply insights and adapt strategy for regional execution
  • Strong commercial business acumen, strategic, critical thinking/problem solving and innovative thinking capabilities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills, ability to develop important relationships with key stakeholders
  • Minimum of 3-5 years Field Management experience or equivalent leadership experience, with documented sales achievements, strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to adapt to change in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • Creative problem solver.
  • Minimum required skills:
  • Team Oriented
  • Minimum 10+ years' experience in the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry
  • Language Requirements: Fluency in English
  • Excellent general business manager
  • Solution oriented
  • Technical skills:
  • Travel: Ability to travel up to 60% of time throughout the nation, to home office and meetings/conventions as necessary
  • Experience with Power BI and Veeva CRM
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must reside within the geographic area of the assigned territory.
  • Strong P&L and budget management skills
  • Education:
  • Ability to travel to meetings/trainings/programs as necessary - additional travel may be required within the assigned territory
  • BA/BS Degree Required, preferably in life science or business. MBA a plus.
  • Strong understanding of the reimbursement landscape and expertise with Managed Markets pull-through highly desirable
  • Must achieve and maintain compliance with all applicable regulatory, legal, and operational rules and procedures, and require the same of his/her team
  • Highly organized with strong account management skills.
  • Experience with in-servicing and training office staff, nurses and office managers.
  • Excellent clinical skills and knowledge
Candidates must complete all fleet safety training and must maintain an acceptable driving record regarding accidents and incidents.
