JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Sales is responsible for overseeing the revenue growth of the company and leading the Sales team. The focus of this job is on achieving results which are aligned with the larger picture of the organization and its strategic goals. Initiative, coupled with a sense of competitive drive, and the ability to stay focused on results despite changing conditions, is the key to achieving the performance objectives of this job. Decision-making is focused on implementing practical, timely solutions.


This position has 8+ direct reports made up of Inside Sales, Regional Sales Managers, and Sales Engineers. A leadership style that is firm and goal-oriented, and yet motivates, trains, and engages others in an enthusiastic way is important. The emphasis on building rapport and relationships with individuals and groups requires an outgoing, poised, and persuasive communication style. Self-assurance, and the confidence to purposely drive toward results while engaging the commitment of others is essential.


The job environment is flexible, constantly changing, and provides recognition and reward for the achievement of business results. This position reports to the CEO/President. This is an in-person position in Seattle with 25% travel required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Aggressively grow business through the development and management of key performance indicators and customer satisfaction goals.
  • Accurate reporting on sales activity and forecasting to the leadership.
  • Promote a positive work environment by modeling AeroGo core values.
  • Estimates proposal close dates and works with the Production and Engineering teams to align goals, share pertinent information, and support the overall success of the company.
  • Provide coaching and performance feedback to develop a high-performing team.
  • Travel with Regional Sales to offer ongoing training, and for customer visits.
  • Identify product improvements or new products by remaining current on industry trends, market activities, and competitors.
  • Develop a winning team and culture to meet performance goals.
  • Build and maintain key customer relationships to ensure AeroGo is meeting and exceeding customer expectations.
  • Other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • We’d be especially excited if you’ve worked with selling industrial equipment with a mix of off-the-shelf and custom engineered product. If you have prior experience selling load-moving equipment – do let us know.
  • Proven success in the areas of negotiation, prospecting, and sales planning.
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively across departments while building trusted relationships and positively influencing others.
  • Know how to make a visionary sale—capture the unique abilities of what AeroGo builds and inspire sales prospects and customers with a sense of what is possible.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Organized and methodical approach to work, with ability to set goals, prioritize, and stay focused in the face of a long list of potential opportunities.
  • Keen presentation skills with the ability to articulate mechanical and engineering information to a diverse audience.


COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

This is a salaried, exempt position with a mix of base compensation and unlimited commission. The expected annual total compensation is $190,000 - $210,000 (base and commission).

Physical Requirements

The position requires working in a factory environment which may include hot, cold, or noisy conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Also required is the ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time, to lift up to 50lbs, climb ladders and stairs, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool, as necessary. Must be able to walk extended distances over uneven ground while wearing proper PPE.
