Job Description

As the U.S. health care market continues to evolve, our company is steadfast in advancing market access strategies and building new capabilities to ensure we can identify and achieve the payor customer needs. The Market Access and Engagement (MAE) Team reflects an increased emphasis on payor customer centric engagement which requires more holistic planning at a portfolio level. By combining account management insights and brand marketing resources, this team will drive better coordination and efficiency across our business to identify new untapped opportunities that sit above


Individual brand priorities.


As a core member of the Market Access and Engagement Team, the Associate Director, Payor Strategy will be accountable for implementing recommendations from the MAE Team by integrating with BU Payer Marketing teams and providing payor customer insights to better inform the development of optimal omnichannel engagement experiences. This person will also be responsible for creating measurement frameworks that drive optimization efforts. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in the payor landscape with respect to the brand product lifecycles as well as digital tactic development, including prior knowledge with the design, review, approval, deployment, and measurement of digital tactics.


Primary Tasks


  • Partner with Business Unit teams to learn brand- and portfolio-level priorities and resource pipelines to guide strategy recommendations and aid tactical implementation where appropriate.
  • Leveraging market research to build/refine/interpret customer personas and understand channel and content preferences in the development of compelling marketing resources and alignment to appropriate channel delivery strategies.
  • Work with data science and other analytics teams to catalog customer engagements and build optimization recommendations based upon successful message/channel combinations.
  • Collaborating with other MAE team members to field reactive customer requests, market research, internal knowledge, and external sources of industry insight to represent key customer needs and provide content, channel, and timing recommendations to payer and brand marketing colleagues.
  • Support Payor Strategy planning through the lens of technical feasibility (i.e., people, processes, technologies) needed to drive team recommendations.
  • Partnership with channel and capability teams to understand existing roadmaps and sequencing of updates.
  • Identify, develop, and roll out new capabilities and engagement approaches, including partnership with channel and digital capability teams to comprehend existing roadmaps and sequencing of updates.
  • Supporting the process to vet potential new digital channels to reach payor customers, bringing in new customer channel preferences, and helping the business units to sequence and prioritize channels and messages.


Education Minimum


  • Bachelor's Degree


Knowledge And Skills


  • Growth mindset with demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute against goals to drive results.
  • High energy with strong project management skills and the ability to drive results with cross-functional teams in a timely and compliant way.
  • Prior knowledge with Agile frameworks and work processes preferred but not required.
  • Established background in marketing strategy (including business planning/goal setting, message development, market research, etc.) OR digital development (tactical execution from creative concept to deployment). Ability to demonstrate a strong comprehension of the people, processes and technologies needed to bring digital campaigns to market.
  • Foundational knowledge of U.S. health care market, including payor customers, along with comprehension of ecosystems, trends, drivers, and influencers.
  • Excellent communication skills and teamwork that leads to effective partnership with stakeholders and extended teams.

Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate’s relevant skills, experience, and education.


Expected Salary Range


$130,960.00 - $206,200.00
