We are hiring: come join TriMet's Engagement Team as an Outreach Programs and Events Coordinator!
This position is currently limited-term with an expected end date of 7/1/2023. However, upon approval of TriMet’s FY 2024 Budget, this position will become a regular, ongoing position.
In support of agency and department priorities, and as guided by the Supervising Manager of the department, the Outreach Programs and Events Coordinator will develop and/or coordinate elements of integrated campaigns, transit equity and diversity initiatives, promote ridership initiatives, and support event coordination and related campaigns. This position works to conceptualize, plan, implement and monitor comprehensive campaigns to support agency initiatives. The Outreach Programs and Events Coordinator actively builds and strengthens partnerships with external stakeholders in order to increase public confidence and support of TriMet, its goals and programs. They gather and disseminate information to the community with emphasis on the public in TriMet programs and services.

Serve as a good steward of TriMet by regularly utilizing our transit system to maintain a strong and current understanding of customers’ experiences and of TriMet’s product and service offerings.
Marketing & Communications
1. Strategize, develop and implement high visibility marketing and promotional campaigns to bring attention to agency products, services and programs, to build community and bring the TriMet brand to life. Establish communication strategies, prepare and present briefs, develop and implement design and production schedules.
2. Conceptualize and plan materials to promote TriMet programs, services and initiatives in cooperation with Manager/Director of the department and the Creative Services and Rider Communications team. Functions could include but not limited to drafting copy and talking points, edit copy and develop graphic treatments.
3. Set strategic objectives and develop strategic plans and initiatives for launching key campaigns that promote community building and ridership.
4. Coordinate all aspects of project management, including design, development and implementation of materials and collateral for delegated campaigns, programs, and initiatives. Coordinate program implementation with other Customer Information Services staff, agency partners, and stakeholders, including deployment of resources.
5. Conceptualize, articulate and facilitate the production of TV, radio, print advertising, collateral, and web content to support agency initiatives, as appropriate.
Community Outreach & Engagement
1. Develop, coordinate and actively participate in events, promotions and other outreach activities to support and strengthen relationships with the community and other segmented markets as priorities dictate, increasing ridership, agency visibility and favorability in the community.
2. Increase agency exposure by developing cooperative partnerships, which result in TriMet being featured as an effective community partner and transportation leader, essential to the region's livability. Strategize initiatives to secure new partnerships with key community stakeholders to leverage resources for maximum exposure and return on investment.
3. Prepare work plans, monitor with tracking and interim reporting, analyze outcomes, and communicate results for key projects. Assess the success of programs aimed at target markets and modify efforts accordingly. Prepare and distribute timely program outlines, presentations, reports, reviews, and analysis on program effectiveness for review by the Manager of Marketing & Outreach Services or Managing Director where applicable.
4. Support TriMet's Limited English Proficiency (LEP) Program activities.
A Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Affairs, Advertising, Education or a related field is preferred.
A minimum of two (2) years total credited experience.*
Two (2) years of experience with progressive responsibility in marketing, promotions, advertising, public relations, communications, or project planning are required.
Two (2) years of experience in project and staff management are preferred.
Knowledge of transit operations is preferred.
Proficiency in Vietnamese, Chinese, Russian, Korean, or Spanish is highly desirable.
Or any equivalent combination of training or experience.
- The amount of credit a candidate receives for prior years of experience is based on the relevancy of that experience to the required or preferred prerequisites of the job description. Experience is prorated based on hours worked. LRHR assigns and validates the "credited experience".

Salary Range
Minimum: $61,306.00
Maximum: $91,961.00
