Job Description

The Children’s Division is seeking candidates for the position of Program Coordinator within the Sex Trafficking Prevention Unit.

Base is negotiable within the State.

What you’ll do:

  • Actively participate on committees, task forces, policy groups and other work groups with allied organizations on the state level to build and maintain evidence informed approaches to the prevention of and response to missing/runaway youth, Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC) and other forms of human trafficking. Lead cross-system collaboration efforts with a focus on data, capacity building and effective service delivery for at-risk children and youth in foster care. Produce oral and written reports for internal and external purposes.
  • Manage a team of program development specialists. Responsible for developing, organizing, and evaluating achievement of goals and objectives of programs and interventions to identify risk factors related to missing youth and human trafficking; prevent harm to youth; and accomplish their safe recovery.
  • Develop, update, and conduct program trainings and orientations regarding program implementation, evaluation requirements, policies, and procedures. Coordinate and provide technical assistance and skill development opportunities for staff, partnering with external organizations and subject matter experts.
  • Analyze and produce policies and procedures to ensure compliance with laws and best practices. Analyze legislative proposals to assess fiscal impact, identify effects on policy and procedure and any technical adjustments which would be needed if enacted into law.

All you need for success:

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or High School Equivalent and Eight or more years of professional experience with a public or private agency in the delivery of protective services, including casework/case management in: investigation of abuse or neglect; coordination of foster care, adoptions, and family centered services; treatment/rehabilitation; and/or providing in-home family crisis intervention services.

OR

A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferably a degree in social work or a comparable human services field (Substitutions are allowed). And; Four or more years of professional experience with a public or private agency in the delivery of protective services, including casework/case management in: investigation of abuse or neglect; coordination of foster care, adoptions, and family centered services; treatment/rehabilitation; and/or providing in-home family crisis intervention services.

(A Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in social or behavioral sciences, Public or Business Administration, or a closely related field may substitute for two years of the stated experience.)

(Additional qualifying experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis for deficiencies in the stated college education.)
