Job Description
The Opportunity


The Grizzlies are seeking a dynamic individual to work in a fast-paced environment as our Community Engagement Education Coordinator. The ideal candidate will help implement and administer effective outreach programs and events; under our pillars of education, health and fitness, and service; with a strong focus on educational programming. As coordinator s/he are primarily responsible to drive high levels of participation in, and commitment to these pillars. S/he will develop and implement strategies to increase visibility and storytelling of the Grizzlies community efforts by executing key outreach initiatives and developing meaningful relationships with local organizations throughout the Mid-South.


In This Role You Will


  • Assist with execution of game night duties related to the needs of the department;
  • Provide special project support or other duties as assigned.
  • Familiarity with creating and/or expanding existing education programs;
  • Skilled in curriculum development of STEAM, financial literacy, and reading based programs;
  • Ability to plan and execute special events. Including but not limited to setup of the events, coordinating vendor relations, equipment rentals and marketing/communications needs;
  • Develop relationships with local community organizations throughout the Mid-South to continue to strengthen the relationship between the team and the community;
  • Actively lead community initiatives, including but not limited to brainstorming and executing team event activations as well as gathering relevant market research;
  • Support departmental fundraising ideas and implementation in support of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital;
  • Support all team appearances as needed;


The Experience You Will Bring


  • 2-3 minimum years of related experience working in a school or other field focused on student curriculum and advancement.
  • Strong communication skills and business etiquette; ability to effectively interact with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to plan and work with minimum supervision, demonstrating a high degree of initiative, and ability to produce high quality work under tight deadlines.
  • Strong relationship management skills.
  • Comfortable with public speaking at engagements and during events.
  • Strong teamwork and cross-group collaboration.
  • Familiarity with silent auctions and/or fundraising platforms.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, problem solving skills, and ability to multitask.
  • Knowledge of issues and best practices related to education programming, and community development.
  • Notable experience within corporate social responsibility, community relations, philanthropy, cause-marketing, nonprofit management.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekend, or holidays as needed.
  • Bachelor’s degree.


Nice To Have


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Non-profit Management, Public Relations, Communications, Public Policy, Marketing, Sports Management, or other closely related field.
