JOB SUMMARY: The Youth Services Coordinator provides professional, compassionate, and quality case management and assistance to youth experiencing homelessness at the youth drop-in center in Anoka. This position will provide access and referrals for basic needs and supplies and provide community resources and services. They will work individually with youth to set personal goals, provide encouragement, and give them the support they need on their path towards independence and self-sufficiency.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Utilize trauma informed care, strength-based focus, and a client centered approach to uphold HOPE 4 Youth’s four pillar approach towards sustainability and goal achievement.
- Create a safe and supportive environment for all youth including those from underrepresented and diverse populations.
- Provide case management to youth in alignment with their goals towards sustainable housing.
- Support volunteers and interns in ensuring that policies, procedures, and protocols are followed.
- Provide youth with referrals to community resources and services.
- Maintain documentation through Client Track platform to record services, case notes, and case management hours.
- Complete intakes and assessments for new youth participants.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
- At least 3 years of professional or related lived experience required.
- Experience working with and providing case management for at-risk homeless youth ages 16-24 is preferred but not required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Commitment to the mission, and ability to articulate the values and mission of HOPE 4 Youth.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and adept at utilizing database and managing data.
- Must be able to work effectively in a diverse, mission-driven agency committed to the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Skilled in developing and maintaining effective relationships with youth, families, volunteers, and community service providers.
- Clear understanding of effective crisis intervention and programing that is trauma informed, strengths-based, and follows a client-centered approach.
Licenses and/or Certifications:
- Valid driver’s license, access to reliable transportation, and the ability to meet HOPE’s driving record requirements.
