Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio/Planned Parenthood Advocates of Ohio is seeking a mission-minded Associate to join us as a full time (37.5 per week) Associate Relations Generalist. Please note this positions requires quarterly travel to our health centers located in Northeast Ohio.
SUMMARY
The Associate Relations Generalist is a champion of the “In This Together” ethos by providing expert counseling services to associates, managers, and leaders of PPGOH. Tending to the team, respecting and honoring all people, and ensuring that associates have the tools and resources they need for success is critical to the functioning of human resources. The Associate Relations Generalist will partner across multiple departments in an assigned region and act as a subject matter expert in areas of associate engagement, conflict management, performance evaluation, team building, benefits, HR best practices, and any application of local, state, and federal employment laws.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Champion and manage the performance evaluation tools of the affiliate including probationary reviews, annual reviews, and performance improvement plans.
- Collaborate with Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer, Vice President of Human Resources, and Human Resources Manager on the development/redevelopment and implementation of HR handbook, policies, and procedures.
- Participate in the development and revision of policies and procedures. Review and make recommendations of the associate handbook.
- Partner with Training, Experience, and Equity teams to deliver an exceptional onboarding experience for all associates at PPGOH.
- Maintain high integrity and confidentiality when engaging with associates, managers, and other leaders.
- Perform quarterly site visits to evaluate the health and well-being of associates and ensure that resources are provided that contribute to the success of the team(s).
- Deliver decisive corrective action decisions or counseling when unfavorable findings are discovered as a result of investigations or when associates violate employment agreements.
- Assist with answering associate requests and inquiries in a timely and courteous manner.
- Conduct investigations in a timely fashion when issues arise in the workplace.
- Perform all necessary actions to successfully fulfill employer obligations under state unemployment claims and appeals.
- Maintain regular communication with all associates around benefits, wellness, open enrollment, changes in labor laws, and compliance with policies and procedures.
- Provide counsel to leadership and management on issues of associate conduct and conflict resolution.
- Coordinate and process terminations of staff in collaboration with the Leave and Benefits Administrator.
- Assist with maintenance and audits of all aspects of associate records in digital files and HRIS.
- Partner with Vice President of Human Resources and Human Resources Manager on accreditation readiness on indicators related to HR, Training, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
- Act as a subject matter expert on areas of benefits and resources available for associates.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- Knowledgeable of Affirmative Action and Equal Employment Opportunity requirements

- Experience in non-profit healthcare setting preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to make informed, independent, and objective judgement
- Commitment to the ethos, values, and service standards of Planned Parenthood and ability to communicate these to associates, volunteers, prospective job applicants, and others in the community
- At least 3 years of progressive experience in human resources required
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or another related field
