Job Summary
The Associate Director, Professional Relations will enhance our leadership position in Dermatology by executing a robust strategic customer engagement / opinion leader strategy as well as acting as the main point of contact for identified customers / opinion leaders by:
- Currently recruiting for the Southeast Region & Central US Region
- This role will report to the Head of Professional Relations.
- Expanding and strengthening the dermatology footprint with the Field Regions and regional communities
- Establishing and nurturing long lasting relationships to enable our vision and aspiration of becoming the premier dermatology company
- Representing Arcutis at any number of Society, Congress, and other relevant events
- Increasing efficiencies of regional opinion leaders’ interactions with Arcutis
Roles & Responsibilities
Professional Relations Associate Director will serve as the primary point of contact for regional opinion leaders influential to the treatment of dermatologic conditions in the United States. These responsibilities include:
- Enabling point of contact commercial experience for regional OLs by ensuring all functions are aware of key activities
- Building and leading the regional OL strategy and engagement plan that yields optimal advocacy relationships with key customers
- Partnering with Commercial, Medical and Development teams to identify regional level thought leaders and emerging new OLs in Dermatology; covers resident engagement to identify emerging leaders
- In collaboration with medical, leading insight gathering among ROLs including 1:1 engagement, small group meetings, and regional advisory boards to gather actionable commercial information. Will utilize tracking tool developed for team.
- Supporting promotional speaker identification, training, coaching, and logistics
- Assisting commercial with regional HCP recruiting efforts for national meetings, training programs and headquarter interactions. Manage logistics, discussion topics and introductions
- Partnering with commercial and medical affairs to develop an annual advisory board plan for regional thought leaders that assists with commercial strategies
- Developing the regional and local congress strategy and plan in partnership with the brand team and medical affairs that includes clear commercial objectives and key discussion points. Lead Tier 3 and regional congress planning in region with marketing.
- Building customer awareness of Arcutis’ commitment to advancing the treatment of patients with dermatologic conditions and diseases
- Supports regional and state society meetings and budget with congress team and sales.
- Strong collaboration with RSD team to identify and engage customers
- Expected travel is 50%-70% (Congresses, Customer visits, Professional Society Meetings, Home office visits)
Education & Licenses and Experience
Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and 7+ years in the pharmaceutical, biotech industry, including five in Professional Relations, Opinion Leader or advocacy relations, marketing, sales or medical affairs. Advanced degree a plus.
Competencies & Skills
- Ability to lead and represent the company and, where appropriate, to follow within a large complex organization and within small collaborative working teams
- Proven understanding of key trends in both internal and external environment
- BS/BA degree required; Advanced degree preferred with a minimum of 10+ years in the pharmaceutical, biotech, device or diagnostic industry, including 3-5 years in Professional Relations, Opinion Leader or advocacy relations, marketing, sales or medical
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with excellent organizational and independent problem-solving skills
- Strong relationships building skills, with proven ability to build and maintain partnerships with HCPs / Opinion Leaders
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Sound judgment in critical decision making
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with little supervision
- Proven ability to build, maintain and influence effective working relationships with key internal stakeholders, including marketing, medical affairs, public relations and colleagues from medical and marketing
- Marketing & sales experience a plus; Understanding of brand and franchise needs, including relevant scientific, medical, economic and policy-related matters related to this therapeutic area
- Ability to thrive in a highly regulated environment with demonstrated ability to act with integrity
- Proven ability to manage organizational complexities and breadth of issues
- Previous experience implementing thought leader plans and professional medical society and patient advocacy strategies for pharmaceutical organizations
- Demonstrates Arcutis Leadership principles and can lead without authority
- 3- 5 years in Dermatology a plus, with demonstrated ability to understand this disease state
