Associate - Business Strategy (Alternative Investments)

Ascendo is working with a global PE/alternative investment firm seeking a highly motivated and analytical individual to join their operational team as Business Strategy Associate. In this role, you will work closely with senior leaders and investment professionals to support the operational and strategic goals of the infrastructure investment team.

Responsibilities:

• Support the development and execution of business plans, including market entry strategies, expansion opportunities, and strategic partnerships.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in alternative investments to drive continuous improvement and innovation within the firm.
• Conduct analysis, financial modeling, and research to support portfolio and business management activities
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented strategies and initiatives, providing regular updates and suggesting adjustments as needed.
• Collaborate with the investment team to provide strategic insights and recommendations on portfolio construction, asset allocation, and risk management.
• Prepare and deliver insightful presentations and reports to senior leadership and investment committees, summarizing findings, recommendations, and potential investment opportunities.
• Analyze financial data, investment performance metrics, and risk factors to evaluate the performance and effectiveness of current investment strategies.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in strategy consulting, investment banking, private equity, or a similar role within the financial services industry or corporate finance.
• Proficiency in financial modeling and valuation techniques to assess investment opportunities and evaluate performance.
• Strong understanding of alternative investments and familiarity with various asset classes such as private equity, venture capital, real estate, and hedge funds.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to think critically, identify patterns, and develop innovative solutions to complex problems
• Excellent analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret complex data from multiple sources.
• Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field. MBA or CFA designation is preferred but not required.
