General Function

Fifth Third’s Private Equity Investments Group oversees the Bank’s portfolio of investments in private equity funds and executes its strategic commercial objectives of driving investment income and One Bank cross-sale generation.

The investment focus is oriented towards sourcing and investing in top-tier SBIC private equity funds to generate strong risk-adjusted returns, while leveraging these relationships as a catalyst to drive growth for the broader Bank.

The role is responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Collaborates with other employees internally to maximize cross-sale revenue.
• Reviews and negotiates legal documents, in partnership with counsel.
• Sources and assesses new investment opportunities.
• Monitors and analyzes portfolio metrics, and maintains key models/tools used in portfolio assessment and forecasting.
• Participates in the preparation and presentation of internal presentations.
• Leads a comprehensive quantitative and qualitative due diligence process for evaluating and underwriting prospective investments.
• Maintains active dialogue with fund managers to ensure adequate risk management and maximized returns.
• Serves as representative on funds’ advisory boards (if relevant).
• Keeps informed of market activity and trends, as well as legal, regulatory and tax issues.

Supervisory Responsibilities

None. However, expected to be provide 360 feedback to team members and operate in a collaborative manner within the group and the bank at large.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required

• 5 or more years of private equity investment experience. (Open to candidates with 3 or more years of private equity investment experience, with title (Associate), compensation, and responsibilities to be commensurate).
• M.B.A preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting or other adjacent business area.
