Advertised Job Summary
The University of South Carolina is seeking a seasoned Administrative professional to join the Office of the Board of Trustees as an Administrative Coordinator II. Reporting to the Assistant Secretary for Business Operations, the Administrative Coordinator provides administrative support to the Secretary of the Board of Trustees to include managing the Secretary’s schedule and meeting coordination with University leadership, Trustees, and constituents; reading/proofing of documents and transcribing minutes. Provides administrative support for the Office of the Board of Trustees.
The Board of Trustees is the governing body of the University of South Carolina. The Board’s fiduciary duties include hiring the President of the University of South Carolina, along with making policy decisions that affect the entire University of South Carolina System. The Administrative Coordinator provides administrative support for the Board of Visitors, an advisory body of University ambassadors. Maintains effective professional relationships with Board and Committee members, as well as community and University leadership. The Administrative Coordinator assist in the day-to-day operations of the Board Office to include processing of invoices, submitting the Secretary’s expense reports, drafting/proofing of minutes, and uploading final minutes to the Board website.

Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree and 2 years related experience in business, public administration or administrative services, or bachelor’s degree and 4 years related experience; or equivalency.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Excellent interpersonal and organization skills. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Must possess excellent research skills with the ability to create effective and confidential materials in a fast-paced work environment. Ability to process Board requests for information and maintain ombudsman responsibilities on behalf of the Trustees and their constituents. Ability to maintain positive relationships with Trustees, University administrators, faculty, staff and students, as well as external constituent groups and organizations. Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Forms. Analytical. Good judgement. Strong reasoning ability. Able to manage multiple competing priorities effectively and efficiently.
