We currently have a unique opportunity for an Administrative Coordinator to support the research laboratory of Dr. Danny Reinberg. The lab is relocating to the University of Miami and the position is expected to begin in June 2023. You will work collaboratively with Dr. Reinberg, a top researcher of biochemistry and cell biology, and the members of his lab team – they study the dynamic processes that shape chromatin structure and direct transcriptional outcome. We are targeting someone who enjoys taking on challenges with a strong sense of patience and enthusiasm, working independently, and proactively anticipating the needs of both their leader and the team. This role is an integral part of the lab and will be responsible for supporting Dr. Reinberg with a wide variety of tasks including calendar management, travel, and other administrative responsibilities as demands arise.

What you’ll do:
  • Order and maintain office supplies for the office and the laboratory as needed
  • Coordinate domestic and international travel arrangements as needed
  • Provide a very high level of administrative support
    • Manage the calendar and coordinate complex scheduling, including internal and external meetings, conferences, and professional engagements for Dr. Reinberg
    • Keep Dr. Reinberg’s CV up to date
    • Coordinate domestic and international travel arrangements as needed
    • Organize laboratory meetings, seminars, and other events
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Manage budgets and funding sources
  • Keep Dr. Reinberg’s CV up to date
  • Process and track reimbursements from multiple sources for Investigator, laboratory members and visiting scientists
  • Manage the calendar and coordinate complex scheduling, including internal and external meetings, conferences, and professional engagements for Dr. Reinberg
  • Organize laboratory meetings, seminars, and other events
  • Prepare, track and monitor material transfer agreements and scientific protocols
  • Serve as key liaison with departments at University of Miami, HHMI, and various other organizations

What you bring:
  • Excellent computer skills, including demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Familiarity with scientific terminology would be a plus.
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Extensive previous experience as an administrative assistant is required. Previous experience in a research and/or higher education environment is preferred, but not required.
  • Superior oral and written communication skills and the ability to use good judgment in working independently, showing initiative, managing deadlines and responding to inquiries.

Compensation Range
$60,200.00 (minimum) - $75,266.00 (midpoint) - $97,800.00 (maximum)

HHMI’s salary structure is developed based on relevant job market data. HHMI considers a candidate's education, previous experiences, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity when making job offers. Typically, a new hire for this position in this location is compensated between the minimum and the midpoint of the salary range.
