This leadership includes employing a collaborative and inclusive approach across academics and the wider SNHU eco-system to ensure that the institution's vision, mission, and strategic goals, and the requirements of this role, are met. In this role, you will understand how to implement disciplined change with different teams, support continuous improvement through optimization, and lead teams toward metric and financial results.
The ED ensures understanding of the mission and priorities of the University. You will ensure interdepartmental and university-wide collaboration with teams including Academic Quality and Assurance, Academic Resources and Technology, Learning Science and Assessment, Marketing, Office of Product and Program Innovation, University Partnerships, and University Campus. You must be well-versed in and connected to the national conversation regarding higher education around student outcomes, business education, workforce needs, and different learning modalities such as competency-based education. To be successful, you will manage in the present and shape strategic direction as a future-focused leader. You must exude passion for our learner, faculty, and employee success.
The ED serves a diverse team of academic staff, which may include Senior Associate Deans, Associate Deans, Global Campus Faculty, and adjunct faculty. The ED of Business reports to the Associate Vice President of Academic Programs at Global Campus. This is a fully remote position.
In this Role You'll Get To:
  • Oversee priorities and processes for developing our business adjunct faculty in compliance with ACBSP faculty standards.

  • Manages special projects as assigned.
  • Maintain a national presence within higher education.
  • Oversee the quality and integrity of business programs to ensure understanding of accreditation/regulatory compliance to NECHE, ACBSP, and professional industry standards.
  • Lead programmatic activities which ensure that high-quality programs are developed to support student learning, and allow graduates to achieve the reported program, course, and employment outcomes.
  • Drive efficiency toward operational excellence and accountability for specified academic programs teams.
  • Support efforts across academic administration related to our core academic functions which may include procedure development, academic governance, accreditation support, learner support, and faculty quality.
  • Promote communication among partners with an emphasis on communication across teams including our University Campus.
  • Bring people and teams together toward shared purpose within a culture of shared, aligned, and celebrated success.
  • Develop and implement projects that improve student satisfaction and engagement, the student experience, and student learning, understanding that these are major drivers of student success, student persistence and student retention.
  • Support the professional development opportunities for faculty and academic staff to ensure ongoing effectiveness in those roles, and to prepare them for future roles.
  • Work with other executive directors, administrators, and deans to achieve Global Campus' goals.
  • Understand the business of higher education and the impact of decisions on resources, competitive position, and market position.
What we're Looking For:
  • Knowledge of different learning and faculty models.
  • Experience with the development of policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Experience setting strategic direction and leading cultural change.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and leading new programs and implementing new programs.
  • Doctoral degree or equivalent terminal degree focused in a business discipline required.
  • Understanding of contemporary issues in higher education and how those issues might affect SNHU people, programs, and products.
  • Experience with academic governance processes.
  • Experience working with curriculum development and learning outcomes assessment.
  • 3+ years of higher education administrative and academic experience above/equivalent to an academic Dean level.
  • Experience within online education at large-scale, including a variety of faculty and course design models; learner experience development, and faculty management.
  • Understanding of balancing traditional academic practices and requirements with the expressed mission of expanding higher education to underserved or unserved populations by increasing accessibility and affordability.
  • Ability and commitment to building academic quality and enhancing the student experience and learning outcomes.
  • Experience with regional and programmatic accreditation (i.e., ACBSP).
  • Experience hiring, developing, inspiring, and mentoring team members.
