The YMCA of the East Bay is seeking an Executive Director to oversee our vibrant Pleasant Hill YMCA, a branch of significant local impact and regional influence. The branch has pioneered many of the association health initiatives including functional fitness, diabetes prevention and weight-loss interventions. This is a branch primed for the next stage of development. This position will report to the COO and will be responsible for managing the total operations of the branch, which include strategy, leading effective staff and board members, annual campaign and a high focus on growth and impact.
Responsibilities for this position:
- Champion program development, staffing and standards that achieve programmatic outcomes and growth.
- Contributes to the overall Y mission.
- Provide leadership towards safe and effective operations of assigned branch and program areas.
- Provide leadership in Association initiatives and activities.
- Develop, manage, and maintain an annual budget of and taking corrective action to offset negative trends.
- Ensures the operational growth of the YMCA through program expansion, membership sales and retention.
- Achieve operational and performance goals aligned with long-term goals and strategies.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key partners, and other collaborative organizations and agencies related to the community.
- Lead portfolio program efforts by providing direction, leadership, support, and efficiencies for team members through fiscal management, strategic planning, administrative standardization, crisis intervention, quality standards, and risk management.
- Directs the annual Branch Support Campaign
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as budget preparation and program planning within a budget operation size of $2.6M
- Bachelor's degree from four‑year college or university; or three to five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors
