Our network provides the full spectrum of information a fan needs to support their favorite coaches, teams, and athletes. We start reporting on rising-star athletes while they are in high school. Join the National Sales team in this new Sports Account Executive role to bring fandom and fuel to our sports partnerships.
What You’ll Do
  • Independently lead sports sales pitches and, at times, in collaboration with the National sales team.
  • Work with partner teams to ensure that client's KPIs/needs are met.
  • Work as a partner to help clients reach their goals and initiatives.
  • Manage, renew and up-sell existing clients.
  • Focus on identified owned-client direct and/or named agencies.
  • Drive advertising revenue, meeting and exceeding sales goals for Sports programming
  • Work in concert with USA TODAY Network Sports Sales Strategy and Account Management to prepare proposals and respond to RFP's with a high degree of professionalism, quality and in a timely manner
  • Stay current on online advertising trends, sports marketing trends and innovations.
  • Participate and represent USA TODAY Network Sports at industry events.
What You’ll Bring:
  • BS/BA degree
  • A strong team player with the ability to lead by example.
  • Prospecting and cold-calling skills necessary
  • Sports media experience (buying or selling) is required.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, exciting environment while managing multiple priorities and maintaining an unwavering commitment to quality.
  • Highly skilled in negotiating and selling the intrinsic value of a premium offering to customers, not just the program or price.
  • Stellar written communication and presentation skills
  • Extensive knowledge of the college sports landscape
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of digital sales or related digital media buying experience

The annualized base salary for this role will range between $26,100 and $60,950. Variable compensation is not reflected in these figures and based on the role, may be applicable. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, location, and union representation, if applicable.
