Job Description

Mid- Sioux Opportunity Inc. (Mid-Sioux) is seeking a dynamic chief executive to build on our legacy of empowering Iowans to become self-sufficient through supportive and innovative programming.Candidates interested in this position should be prepared to provide progressive leadership, sustain and build upon a positive environment and help our community’s individuals, families and children achieve goals and break down barriers.

Mid-Sioux is a nonprofit 501(c) 3 organization that covers 5 northwest counties in Iowa including Cherokee, Ida, Lyon, Plymouth, and Sioux.


This thriving agency has an opening for a full-time Executive Director.This role reports directly to the Board of Directors and supervises Program Staff in the execution of programming that supports individuals experiencing low income.This role is both visible within the agency and also in the communities that it serves.

The ideal candidate will possess a B.S. or B.A. in human services, public administration, business, or social work with at least eight years of administrative experience, including directing or managing a public or private non-profit or human services program.

Candidates must have knowledge of preparing and monitoring budgets and working with multiple funding sources, knowledge concerning community needs and resources, and an interest and understanding of the needs of families and individuals experiencing low income.Travel within and between sites within the 5 county territory is required.
