GENERAL FUNCTION
An integral member of the Retail Licensed Brands executive team, the Vice President of Strategy & Business Development will be a leader with proven consulting and P&L leadership experience with success in identifying and capitalizing on market opportunities to drive revenue and profit growth. The VP of Strategy & Business Development has responsibility for developing brand strategy including identification of internal and external business opportunities and increasing partnership opportunities with hosts and franchisees. This position leads the Strategy, Analytics, Licensing and Business Development teams within the Retail Licensed Brands organization, currently consisting of Target Optical and Pearle Vision brands.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy development and execution
  • Responsible for long range business planning with focus on organic and inorganic growth opportunities along with running program management for the key initiatives
  • Responsible for identification, evaluation, prioritization, development and launch / incubation of strategic business initiatives, investments and/or partnerships leading to significant improvement in both top line and bottom line and high returns on investment.
  • Understands the businesses key strategic and operational issues, competitive landscape, trends, and business capabilities.
  • Keep abreast of retail, eyecare, omni & consumer sector innovations & competitive activity within the marketplace
Business development
  • Manages the development of the licensed business model. Involves cross functional departments including finance to assess overall business opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships to influence vendors, developers/investors, academic schools, industry leaders, and outside key business partners to support growth of both franchise and corporate businesses.
  • Develop strategic plans to develop and implement new business models, plus negotiate business agreements and contracts with 3rd parties for new business initiatives.
  • Champions the relationship with franchisee and host partners to build cohesive business partnerships with aligned future facing enhancements and opportunities for positive economic growth.
  • Responsible for structure and negotiated terms of licensing agreements with potential business partners.
Leadership
  • Lead & develop a high performing team; provide coaching, direct feedback, and support of individual development plans for direct reports.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Thorough understanding of principles and strategies for building successful franchise business
  • Strong business modeling, budget/forecasting and analytical skills
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business Administration or Economics
  • Ablity to promote ideas & proposals persuasively, win acceptance for new initiatives, negotiate skillfully with 3rd parties; internal & external influence
  • Ability to combine strategic vision with everyday tactical detail and a strong urge for action
  • 15+ years professional experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • CFE Certified Franchise Executive Designation
  • Experience in dealing/presenting/interacting with top level executives (C-Suite)
  • MBA from top tier B-school
  • Experience in Management Consulting firm with business growth & strategy focus

Pay Range: $55,341.00 - $

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
