Job Description
The Role
Fisher & Paykel appliances is seeking an innovative VP of Product Management to join the US Leadership Team to provide thought leadership and strategic insight. The VP of Product will be responsible for creating a connected and engaged product team that is inspired to increase market share and effectively act upon F&P global and local strategic objectives. They will oversee responsibility for product planning, price positioning, new product introductions, and product line performance to increase market share and deliver profitable growth for the US market across brick-and-mortar retail, builder and ecommerce channels.

You Will
  • Be responsible for the planning and execution of product line strategy in-market. Including new product introductions, portfolio optimization, and pricing to ensure alignment with global imperatives and growth aspirations.
  • Provide quality, hands on leadership, creating a thoughtful vision of what success looks like to engage the people to deliver the right work that will strengthen F& P’s performance.
  • Ensure product line’s adherence to maintaining global alignment of F&P’s Market organisational design by working with F&P’s central team when identifying a need for new roles.
  • Ensure the strategic plan is translated to the US Product Mgmt. Team to identify and plan necessary actions that achieve short- and long-term objectives.
  • Deeply understand the product lines and their price positioning in market, including factors that influence product performance and sell-through.
  • Take responsibility for establishing and aligning a culture which demonstrates F&P’s brand values and step-up behaviours
  • Promote accountability for tracking and reporting on the progress of the strategic plan’s implementation, through the use of high-performance processes and tools, to drive delivery to plan.
  • Ensure a seamless, brand aligned representation of F&P’s brand value proposition is applied across all customer touch points of the product line.
  • Drive Operational Excellence through a weekly cadence of forums, process and tools that provide visibility to performance and specific mitigating actions that may be necessary.
  • Ensure a deep understanding of F&P’s brand aspiration, vision and strategic direction.
  • Ensure appropriate stakeholder management approaches are taken with the product line to ensure highly effective cross-functional collaboration with global supporting functions.
  • Identify and establish new market opportunities for product introductions, cultivating a momentum of enthusiasm and pull for F&P’s brand, vision and products.
  • Partner with sales, finance and marketing leaders in preparation and submission of annual operational budgets, managing effectively within this budget, and reporting accurately on progress made and challenges encountered.
  • Coach, develop, and retain high-performing leaders with an emphasis on developing capability in strategic areas of product.
  • Provide regular reporting updates on product line performance to the Executive Management and as well as across the local and global Market Group.
  • Ensure disciplined and effective planning and execution, including necessary changes and transformation activities.
  • Oversee and ensure effective financial management of the product lines (planning, forecasting, budgeting, reporting and audit) with a significant focus on driving revenue and margin growth and increased profitability.
  • Manage and cultivate cross-functional execution of product introductions into the market to meet placement, positioning and sales expectations
You Are
  • Someone who has a global multi-national leadership background in successfully transforming and growing a Product Line that increased market share and profitability growth. Including strategy create and execution of a product line.
  • A strong relationship builder - you've got your eye on the high-level strategy but also the details that matter to the right people.
  • You've got the intelligence, commercial awareness, and savviness to provide business leadership across functional areas of a global consumer organization including budget and fiscal management experience
  • A cross-functional senior operational leader with experience encompassing sales, warehousing, and customer service business
  • An influencer, a planner, an articulate presenter, and you're always looking to grow our share of the business. You understand the need for sustainable, long-term partnerships.

You Have
  • Minimum of 8 years of product management experience and 5 years of leadership experience– preferably in luxury premium appliances
  • Undergraduate degree or related experience
  • MBA or advance degree is highly desirable

The salary range for this position is $180,000 - $220,000 base. This range is a guideline and may not reflect your exact offer. Factors considered when extending an offer include (but are not limited to) education, experience, relevant skills, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
