Job Description
Title: VP of Human Resources


Location: Herndon, VA/Remote

Responsibilities


  • Responsible for administering company's ethics / whistleblower hotline
  • Provide guidance and counsel to managers and employees to ensure consistent application and integration of policies, procedures and practices to ensure compliance with firm policies and regulations
  • Collaborates with executive leadership to define the organization's annual corporate strategy, and long-term mission and goals
  • Develop relationships across HR, Talent Acquisition and throughout the organization to tighten the relationships with key stakeholders and partner for mutual success
  • Provide strategic leadership in the areas of human resources, talent acquisition management (to include external consultants), employee development, organizational design and analysis, staffing and processing operations, compensation, leave, workman's compensation, employee relations, employee retention, performance management, benefits, employee incentive programs and retirement
  • Lead the overall design, implementation, communication and administration of the company's compensation program to include proposal support, job descriptions, position slotting, policy and interdepartmental processes
  • Oversee and maintain integrity of data in the HR database system and personnel records
  • Oversee updating of the employee onboarding program and handbook to document policy changes and the maintaining of employee records while adhering to regulatory and ISO requirements
  • Identify opportunities to increase efficiencies especially through automation
  • Manage (roll up your sleeves) all HR projects as well as participate in functional and cross-functional initiatives
  • Conduct investigations into employee concerns, provide appropriate documentation and bring to conclusion, involving general counsel as necessary
  • Plan, develop and implement programs that will constantly improve culture, values, loyalty, job satisfaction, net promoter score, morale and collaboration
  • Ensure accurate and timely compliance reporting to include AAP, EEO, VETS-4212, 5000's
  • Coach managers and supervisors on employee performance matters and concerns
  • Full HR budget management responsibility
  • Analyze HR data to identify opportunities for improvement and implement solutions to enhance service quality and cost effectiveness (i.e., Labor Turnover trends, absence management)
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and legislative requirements, labor policies
  • Report directly to the CEO
  • Recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed
  • Responsible for managing corporate training program and assuring oversight of program team training requests
  • Carry the NetCentrics cultural torch and drive our culture throughout the company
  • Maintain employee benefits programs by working with a broker to ensure competitive offerings and pricing; design and conduct educational programs on benefit programs and oversee the annual open enrollment process
  • Provide strategic oversight and execution for the HR functions of the organization to follow policies, procedures, and ethical standards of the organization, and in compliance with all laws and regulations


Requirements


  • Demonstrated working knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws and statutes
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing a compensation program, employee benefits programs including the open enrollment process
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a comparable HR role as well as in a management capacity
  • As a contingency to employment at NetCentrics, all candidates who are given offers must successfully pass a background investigation including criminal history and reference checks
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, results oriented environment
  • Ability to confidently and comfortably deliver presentations and speak in front of large groups
  • Excellent proven mentorship and leadership skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, business or related field; Master's preferred
  • PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification
  • A "roll up sleeves and get things done" mentality, self-starter, with strong initiative, excellent attention to detail, ability to think proactively and problem-solve, and a dedication to follow up and follow through, with ability to multi-task, shift priorities and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated experience writing policies and procedures, and compliance reporting
  • Demonstrated HRIS/HRMS experience
  • Ability to travel locally to visit our teammates is required
  • Strong experience in the use of Microsoft Office Suite applications, web-based applications and reports (ADP and Applicant Pro), internet/intranet, and electronic document management
  • Excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills (oral, written, interpersonal, intrapersonal) and ability to build strong relationships and effectively communicate across all levels of the Company, gaining the confidence and respect of peers
  • 15+ years of progressive HR experience required in all facets of Human Resources
  • Experience conducting employee relations investigations and documenting and resolving complaints to include Title VII, FMLA, & Harassment cases
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise judgement and discretion in and handling confidential information and situations


Preferred Qualification/Certifications


  • Experience in implementing HRIS systems
  • Experience working in an ISO or CMMI certified company
  • Experience with California employment law and Service Contract Act contracts
