Position Summary


The Director of Human Resources will work closely with the Chief Operating Officer to lead the people management strategy for the organization. This is a hands-on role directly responsible for administering and overseeing all human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development. The director will also oversee the office administration function. This position has supervisory responsibilities.


Requirements


  • Keep abreast of talent management and related trends that will contribute to ACA’s talent management and workforce development strategies.
  • Develop human resources strategies by identifying and researching human resources issues; contributing information, analysis, and recommendations to organization strategic thinking and direction; establishing talent management objectives in line with organizational objectives.
  • Administer benefits programs for employees and offers advice as needed and requested.
  • Oversee office services, including office administration, building maintenance, and security, and lease and rental negotiations and vendor relationships for the organization.
  • Develop and deliver training programs.
  • Work collaboratively with senior management team and supervisors on compensation analysis, salary reviews, and to determine competitive offers.
  • Research and recommend options for all employee benefits (including, but not limited to, healthcare, life, dental, vision, pharmacy and LTD claims and premiums) to ensure appropriate balance of cost to ACA and benefit to employees.
  • Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organization's human resource information system (HRIS) or talent management system to inform strategic decision making.
  • Monitor metrics to measure the success of people strategies and initiate proactive steps to address deficiencies effectively and routinely.
  • Collaborate with and coach the Senior Team to develop a culture that inspires and fosters high performance and high employee engagement and retention.
  • Negotiate contracts related to HR projects and work with and manage HR consultant/vendor relationships.
  • Ensure that employee job descriptions are maintained in a current and accurate manner.
  • Develop and implement strategy for employee recruitment efforts as well as talent management.
  • Conduct exit interviews with employees to collect information to improve the workplace environment.
  • Create and monitor pr oject budgets as assigned to ensure that revenue and expenses are kept within established boundaries.
  • Ensure that ACA is a diverse, inclusive, and discrimination-free workplace.
  • Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization's human resource compliance and strategy needs.
  • Review financial information for accuracy, such as invoices for services and materials, hotels, subcontractors, etc. and code for accounting.
  • Develop and implement system for maintaining all employee records in a timely, accurate and strictly confidential manner, including managing HRIS and LMS as needed.
  • Develop and manage policies related to a hybrid work environment.
  • Monitors and ensures the organization's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.
  • Oversee and implement new staff orientation process for employees.


Skills, Knowledge, And Abilities


  • Demonstrated experience in working with a wide variety of computer software, systems, and specialized applications designed for record keeping in human resources and general administration.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion, and act ethically.
  • Able to manage people and resources and skill in managing and evaluating employees.
  • Demonstrated experience in and strong knowledge of current human resource management practices and techniques.
  • Employs industry-standard technologies to produce work and is responsible for maintaining professional skill level, including knowledge of industry trends.
  • Detail oriented with superior problem-solving, decision-making, and time management skills; able to prioritize multiple tasks, organize work, delegate effectively, and follow through independently.
  • Able to mentor and foster collaboration among staff.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work well with other staff members
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and on a team, always showing respect for the diverse constituencies of ACA and within its membership.


Minimum Qualifications


  • Demonstrated experience in compensation management.
  • 10 to 15 years of progressive HR experience in a high-growth, fast-paced, and changing environment.
  • Professional certifications of PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP or other relevant certifications highly desired.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills, including the ability to plan and implement in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated experience developing talent and performance management systems.
  • Ability to gather, interpret, analyze, and report statistics and other data.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, master’s preferred, preferably in field such as human resources, business administration, or similar disciplines.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, organizational, and computer skills.
