Company Overview

My client is a hugely impressive series A start-up operating within the AI/ML space, these guys have a truly unique approach to the most exciting area within the AI market right now, and already work with some fantastic customers on a global basis. As they continue to expand their market presence, they are seeking a highly accomplished and dynamic professional to join their team as their Global Vice President of Sales.

Position Overview

As the Global Vice President of Sales, you will play a pivotal player-coach role and will help shape and execute sales strategies on a global scale. You will be responsible for driving revenue growth, building strong customer relationships, and expanding their customer base across multiple regions. Working closely with the executive team, you will develop and implement comprehensive sales plans, oversee sales operations, and lead a high-performing sales team.

Responsibilities

  1. Develop and execute the global sales strategy to achieve revenue targets, market penetration, and sustainable growth.
  2. Lead and inspire a small/growing sales team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to drive their success.
  3. Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, strategic partners, and industry influencers to maximize business opportunities.
  4. Identify and pursue new market opportunities, evaluate potential partnerships, and lead negotiations to secure strategic business deals.
  5. Collaborate with marketing and product development teams to ensure alignment between sales strategies, product offerings, and customer needs.
  6. Continuously monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify areas for improvement and adapt sales strategies accordingly.
  7. Implement effective sales processes, tools, and metrics to drive efficiency, accuracy, and productivity within the sales organization.
  8. Develop and manage the sales budget, forecasting revenue projections, and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess sales performance.
  9. Provide regular reports and updates to the executive team on sales progress, market insights, and revenue forecasts.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field. An MBA or equivalent advanced degree is preferred.
  2. 3-5 years' proven track record of success in global sales leadership roles, preferably within the AI/ML space.
  3. Experience building out pipeline and teams from scratch across multiple regions
  4. Start-up background, has worked for small/early-stage companies before and been successful in this environment
  5. Extensive experience in building and leading high-performing sales teams across multiple regions and managing remote teams effectively.
  6. Demonstrated ability to develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies, achieving revenue targets and driving business growth.
  7. Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze market trends, identify customer needs, and translate them into effective sales initiatives.
  8. Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, customers, and partners.
  9. Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex ideas to diverse audiences.
  10. Strategic mindset with a focus on results and the ability to think critically and make data-driven decisions.
  11. Strong leadership presence with the ability to inspire and motivate teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  12. Willingness to travel internationally as required to meet customers, attend conferences, and support the global sales team.
