About This Role

Lumio is seeking a VP, Corporate Controller to join our team. We are looking for someone that is ready to jump in and help our fast-growing business scale from privately held to public readiness. The VP, Corporate Controller will be a core member of the Corporate Finance and Accounting team reporting directly to the CFO. The VP Corporate Controller oversees all accounting operations for multiple North American regional business units. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing team leads and professionals spanning various topics and processes. In addition to direct ownership of Accounting, the VP, Corporate Controller will be indirectly responsible for all entity-level controls and developing a SOX-compliant framework.

Overall Responsibilities

• Supervise intercompany billing and consolidations of several entities
• Direct the execution of revenue recognition in compliance with US GAAP inclusive of multiple-element arrangements, percent of complete and deferred revenue
• Oversee the Account Reconciliation process for the company (Quarterly Balance Sheet Substantiation)
• Lead a team of Finance/Accounting professionals in a high growth Solar/SAAS environment
• Perform other needed job tasks as requested by leadership
• Review and approve general ledger entries and monthly reporting
• Oversee all audit procedures (Big 4 financial statement, state, federal, tax & other)
• Elevate Accounting Operations from private/AICPA standards to public/PCAOB standards in the next 6-9 month
• Facilitate the month-end close process across multiple entities and LOBs
• Develop, maintain and adhere to accounting policies consistently
• Executive oversight of the day-to-day accounting operations, Payroll, Commissions, AR, AP, GL, Equity, etc
• Direct ownership as a subject matter expert for certain transaction cycles and accounting policy application
• Provide leadership and direction for the corporate accounting functions in accordance with the overall strategic direction of the company
• Draft and compile financial statements in accordance with US GAAP

Qualifications

• Working experience in accounting guidance including multiple-element arrangements, lease accounting, software development capitalization, share-based compensation, translation/remeasurement
• Systems implementation experience preferred (NetSuite, Workday, SFDC)
• Active CPA license required
• 10+ years’ experience in a high-growth company (preferably SaaS/Software, Financing, or other technical roles)
• Must be highly analytical with a comprehensive understanding of reporting from spreadsheets, ERP, BI and other ancillary systems.
• Bachelor of Science, Accounting/Finance,MBA OR MAcc required
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on working experience with SEC filings and/or investor relations materials as a direct contributor
• Familiar with consolidations, translations, equity, hedges, FinCos or Solar a plus
• Advanced/Expert Microsoft Excel skills (v-lookup, pivot tables, file hygiene & organization, etc.)
• 5+ years’ experience directly managing staff (hiring, coaching, reviews, terminations)
• Experience working with mid-level ERP or Enterprise software (Intacct, NetSuite, Dynamics, Oracle, SAP)
