About this Position: : Under the direction of the VP of Accounting, the Assistant Controller is responsible for managing a team of accounting personnel and administering the ERP system to accomplish efficient and accurate information reporting. This person will have an emphasis in the areas of revenue recognition, inventory management, payroll GL interface, tax compliance and other projects as assigned. You will also work with the VP of Accounting to assist with hiring and training accounting staff and ensuring that all transactions in the general ledger are reasonable and accurate.

What You'll Do
  • Produce balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other reports as necessary
  • Oversee accounting staff including: assigning and directing work, appraising performance, resolving problems, and training
  • Perform cash forecasting and planning
  • Assist with the month-end close process and ensure that all the departments’ deadlines are being met
  • Prepare/review monthly accruals, including payroll and accounts payable
  • Oversee the monthly revenue recognition process
  • Review monthly G/L account reconciliations and journal entries
  • Approve weekly vendor payments
  • Prepare account variance analysis of financial statement accounts
  • Assist with directing the annual audit, prepare schedules/roll-forwards and assist with answering questions
  • Ensure that tax returns (sales and use, property, real property, telecommunication, and 1099/1096) are all filed timely and accurately
Skills Needed
  • Ability and excitement to lead and mentor an Accounting team, proven experience managing preferred
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP guidelines
  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting required
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP Systems (Netsuite experience is a plus) strongly preferred
  • 5+ years of relevant Accounting experience required
