Ampian HR is a Professional Employer Organization (PEO) located in Sandy, Utah and is looking to hire a full-time experienced Controller to join our accounting team. Ampian HR is seeing a high level of growth, has recently invested in the best PEO accounting software and we are looking forward to what 2023 brings to our business. This position has a wide range of responsibilities, and we are looking for top talent with the ability and intent to help us improve internal processes and help us grow.
Duties And Responsibilities
Work closely with CFO to prepare timely and accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
Develop dashboards to deliver real time financial information to executive team
Maintain and enhance financial and accounting policies and procedures
Oversee operations of accounting department including accounts payable and accounts receivable
Oversee month end closing process including expense allocations
Manage bank and other Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Build out functionality of Sage Intacct cloud-based accounting system
Monitor system integrations and ensure accuracy of data transfers between operating and accounting systems
Work with external auditors and provide information needed for annual financial audit
Assist annual budgeting and forecasting process
Review monthly financial results and provide budget to actual variance reporting
Conduct financial analysis to identify trends and make recommendations for improvement
Manage cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts
Manage payroll tax reporting process including payroll and tax management system integrations
Coordinate with accounting team and CFO to develop and successfully achieve KPI’s and priorities
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements
Required Experience
  • -Outstanding communication skills
  • -Strong relationship skills with the ability to work with others at all levels
  • -Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or related field and (5) years of progressively responsible experience in financial management or accounting.
  • -CPA or Masters degree in a related field is a plus
Required Technical Skills
  • Computer Accounting Applications
  • Microsoft Office Suite – Strong Mastery of Excel
  • MasterTax software a plus
  • Sage Intacct software experience a plus
  • Payroll software a plus
Required Extensive Knowledge Of
  • GAAP methodology
  • Internal control principles and methods of application
  • Laws and regulations pertaining to payroll tax reporting
  • Professional accounting standards and ethics
